Reliving Halo 2, with attached multiplayer would be a definite dream come true. I’d be particularly excited for playing Coop with friends online, since that was impossible before Halo 3, so just the experience of it would be awesome.

Halo 5’s Beta is something I’m less excited for, and more just interested in. Halo 4 was a huge disappointment for me, especially when I was hoping for 343i to try to remedy the Halo franchise after Reach and bring it back to the game we all fell in love with, as opposed to further distancing the game to the point that it could just as easily have been a completely separate IP.

That’s the problem I have with the course of Halo’s evolution, not necessarily that I hate the new game, more the fact that if it stays this way, it means I can’t have new iterations of my favourite game.

It’s not just carbon clones I want either, Halo CE, 2, and 3 were all vastly different in their own right. But the formula itself didn’t change between the three games, and that formula was simply perfect. There was no part of me that said “This isn’t Halo” when I played any of them, no matter how long I was playing one iteration before the next one’s release. Once we were treated to Halo Reach… Sure… The Campaign still felt enough like a Halo title, but the multiplayer was simply far from even reminiscent anymore.

If there is a H2A it definitely is not going to have “parts of Halo 3 and 4” with it! There may be ports to the Xbox One of said games some time later, but not with Halo 2 Anniversary. Now, the idea of a public beta with H2A is a much better suggestion. Its a lot more sensible too. Lets just hope (if it does happen) that it has the desired effect, and not treated as a regular demo.

since there was no official BETA in h4, i’d like to see one in the upcoming halo. BETA’s determine mistakes or unbalances in matchmaking early enough, so no halo player suffers from them in the final game. we saw how it was in h4. they had to change many things afterwards with updates etc. and still it wasn’t the same.
a halo has to be correct from the beginning, a BETA helps to encourage this.

OP misspoke. The rumor says there will be PORTS.
