Mysterious data chip?

Sentient Life mercilessly hunted.
Now thats interesting. The Prometheans/Didact/Covenant aren’t after Sentient life, they’re after Humanity.

They aren’t restricted to sentient life… but the Flood is the closest known thing to something that would hunt down life like that.

Sounds like things have gone down hard. Things have got to be bad for Humanity if someone like Chief has to make a Herculean effort to stay alive. Humans aren’t the top dogs anymore.

It certainly does seem to be hinting at a return role for the flood. They’re merciless, and they hunt down all sentient life. This definitely sounds unlike what I was expecting.

This is very very interesting.

Halo 5 is said to be a darker game, after all.

#Flood2015Confirmed!

It seems as if this will be a solo chief if solely has to make a “Herculean effort to stay alive”.

They never were.

I guess they were in a way, the “top dogs” in Halo 4 but that was either just an illusion or very temporary…

Well, yeah. The illusion comes crashing down. If they thought they were before they definitely wouldn’t be now.

They were definitely the top dogs, as far as the species surrounding them go anyway. They aren’t well off at all, but everyone else is worse off.

It says the release is December 31st, What?! I’m sure this is gonna change

> It says the release is December 31st, What?! I’m sure this is gonna change

It’s most likely a place holder

> It says the release is December 31st, What?! I’m sure this is gonna change

I see this come up a lot of gaming forums. It’s place holder date.

Obviously the Janus Key has not been put back together.
This makes H X1 all the more interesting to me.

Didact building a new army with converted life forms again?

… or the flood.

Yes, the Didact did indeed build a new army, we encountered them in Spartan Ops. It wasn’t anything large enough to hunt down all sentient life. It was barely enough to battle Infinity’s Spartans.

EDIT: Sorry, read that wrong. At any rate, the Didact makes it clear in the prologue that he’s given up trying to get rid of Humanity.

It looked to me like Master Chief was there to capture Medicant Bias in the empty data chip he was travelling with.
He wasn’t faffing about on the Ark’s deserts in a poncho for no reason.

The date and cover are both just placeholders.

Never lost faith in 343i.

It cannot be too terribly far away if pre-orders are available now. 2014.

Bring it 343i!

The Didact hates humanity, not sentient life. It would be counter to his ideals to want to destroy all life, that’s actually the opposite of what he wants. The Precursors/Flood are the only race with targets set on all sentient life, and the only ones with the capability to “mercilessly hunt” them.

It has to be them. There is literally no alternative given what we know.

> So, Microsoft’s official store released a few details about Halo for Xbox One, including a taster of what’s to come in terms of campaign, and a release date of December 21st 2014. Details here.

Meh, they could have summarized all that into two sentences…

mysterious data chip
in a galaxy where sentient life is mercilessly hunted

Quite intriguing.
