Red vs Blue easter egg ideas for Infinite

I think we’re all in agreement that Red vs Blue easter eggs make any game better. What are some of your ideas for 343 to deliver clever or funny nods or references to our beloved show?

Here are some I think should definitely be included:

  • In the campaign on legendary with the IWHBYD skull equipped, if you’re driving a Warthog and a player or marine is holding a shotgun and gets in the passenger, the Warthog music would play - The Sarge’d medal - Background marines arguing about whether or not a Warthog should be called a puma - An injured marine saying the last thing he remembers is Jimmy getting beaten to death with his own skull - A marine saying “bow chicka bow wow” in response to something that could be interpreted in a sexual way - Whiskers written in fine text on a Mantis

Fun stuff! I can see on a long drive across the Ring we get marines arguing about what to call the warthog.

I think that the shotgun one would be a bit intrusive though, if it were every time you got in the warthog.

Only in a fully loaded Warthog where the passenger has a shotgun and it’s on legendary with the IWHBYD skull activated. Could easily be only a one time thing if you’re playing solo.

What if they got the guy who played Sarge to do a voice for IWHBYD skull, and it happens if he jumps into the puma?

Any easter egg where they bring in the voice actors would be amazing!

What if while you’re on the Infinity (if you even are allowed to wander it) you can walk overhead of the simulation chambers for War Games and you can see a red and blue team fighting, but blue team only has 2 standard blue soldiers, one grey soldier with yellow accents, and one cyan soldier? While red team has 2 standard red soldiers, a pink soldier (pardon me, I meant lightish red of course!), and a orange soldier? And maybe at some point they just stop fighting and start bickering or standing around and talking?

This would be an amazing Easter Egg! Easily missed if you aren’t looking for it, but well worth the watch. Perhaps even just have an old episode playing on one of the screens from back in the CE days.

I also love OP’s idea of having random marines arguing about the name of the Warthog and preferring to call it a Puma. And while I’m not a fan of variants in just about any form, if we have variants, perhaps a rare variant would be a Warthog called the Puma.

Perhaps it can be a chance spawn or something! Like, maybe 1 out of 5 times it might happen, while normally a normal match might be going on?

I have to agree, the Puma joke goes back pretty far (and even had a moment to shine in the second season of RWBY I believe.). (For context: two goons of the antagonist hunt down a half man, half cat hybrid known as a Faunus (spelling?) and while they debate about what he was half of, they made the joke of: M: I think he was like a big cat? E: like a Puma? M: yeah, there ya go!).

Something subtle like having a marine mumbling to himself, calling the tank he is working on “Sheila” or by sitting in the tank and asking “Why are there six pedals if there are only four directions?”.

Or having a mantis called “Freckles” on a readable terminal.

Sounds fun or include him as a firefight voice…I wouldn’t mind having Caboose voice turned on 24/7…including Caboose commentary in campaign/vs…did I go too far?

Caboose commentary on the continuation of the Halo time-circle? You most certainly did not go too far my friend.
