Finally. 343 has decided to incorporate a story to explain why red spartans fight blue spartans. Does anybody have any theories on what this back story might be?

It’s either a training simulation that has the Spartans fighting Spartans. As a form of training.
Or: You know how we have WW2 video games. The Halo video games could be video games withing the Halo universe that are depicting the war. Anyway the Red versus Blue can one of the ways they trained the Spartans. Which would have been done by simulations. So they are showing us how they did it by the MP. Which also allows us to play it. (You get what I’m trying to say.)

What, every time you post a sarcastic comment, people just think you’re stupid?
I wonder why they’d do that.
That was kinda what I was thinking that it could be a Training program. Or even some kind of civil war between spartan factions (color signifying which faction they side with). I just hope there is some depth to the backstory. I feel that 343 has a huge opportunity to grow the Halo mythos with this backstory.
well most likely to be about red spartans fighting blue spartans in a never ending battle then maybe in the middle of our matches a different version black spartan will come in.then after a series of team killing by one of the blues, a blue comes back as a ghost and has the red team build him a robot body.after some crazy battles with the reds and blues fighting this rouge AI the blue team ghosts robot body will explode sending all the reds and blues to the future.
Then season 4,5,6,7,8,9 afterwards.
I’m guessing Civil War or training like the others said. It does make more sense if ya think about it.
