In the Campaign Demo at E3 it was clear Master Chief was fighting Red Prometheans…Very upset Red Prometheans.
But wait hasn’t the unsaid universal color for the Forerunners always been Blue? Bridges, Terminals, Beam emitter, themselves, and so on…
So why red now? Well the color “Red” is the universal color for bad, evil, corruption… and there is a THEORY out there that the Dicact/Prometheans are being corrupted and controlled or have altogether gone evil. This goes along with the controversial diagram.
But we have also seen Blue Prometheans. Could this mean that at some point in the campaign the Prometheans could actually be on our side and good after all? That the “Evil” or “Corruption” in them changes their color?
What do you think? Would you like to fight alongside the Blue Prometheans?
EDIT:
> Yes, I understand that the red diagram is different than this one, and very well might not be the Didact, but someone/something else.

> But regardless if that is the Didact’s symbol or not is meaningless. The fact of the matter is, it’s red whereas the typical Forerunner symbols are blue.
Since Elites aren’t in MM, didn’t it say somewhere that they were going to put something in to quench our thirst? Maybe there is a new game mode, like Red Vs Blue Promethean style or something along those lines… Or were they talking about Spartan Opps. Either way.
I haden’t even noticed the color difference until I saw this post. Well done mate. You might be on to something! And is it just me, or are they heads different on both Knights? There’s so many possibilities. Maybe, Cortana like… Hacks some forerunners at one point in the game or something. Ugh! I’ll be back once I’ve learned more lol.
I would’ve loved to fight alongside the Covenant again against this universe threatening ancient evil, but I suppose fighting alongside friendly Prometheans is a good alternative.

Well, the covenant is in Halo 4, and the Infinity was built with forerunner and covenant technology, I would think that it would be within the covenant’s interest on the Arbiter side to make sure that the Infinity was kept safe.

I don’t even consider these Storm Covenant actual Covenant. They are nothing more than mindless drones clinging to a false religion disproved multiple times and yet still feel that killing humans will please the the Forerunners. When Frank O’Conner said the Covenant would be radically different, I didn’t expect them being the same as they once were to be that change.
And since they are enemies in Spartan Ops, we can’t even hope for a Halo 2-like change of heart. I can only hope the Arbiter comes back and at some point beats some sense back into his misled brothers, but who knows.

Time and time again in human history we have seen that when a common belief becomes “okay” by societal standards we have come to accept it as part of our lives. But when irrefutably proven 100% wrong there will be people who will accept the change with open arms and others who will fight it to their dying breath. I could only imagine that the Covenant is experiencing the same kind of backlash and only future generations will resolve the issue, as the new belief becomes more accepted over time and eventually becomes the new norm. Unfortunately in Halo, we don’t have nearly the time to let that play out, so yeah, we beat sense into them.

Exactly! I did’t know whether I should mention that in the OP, but yes they are most certainly different. I don’t know about you but the Blue one seem…well… Less evil looking.

Maybe, we don’t know how much back story and involvement 343 will be putting into the cut-scenes. this time around We can only hope for the best, but you probably are right.
> I don’t see any red, only orange with yellow lights…
True, they do have a orange/yellow look to them. But even orange and yellow are Hot Colors, which are universality bad, whereas Cold Colors (Green, Blue…ect) represent Good.
Yes, i understand that the red symbol is different than this one, and very well might not be the Didact, but someone/something else.

Who in this forum can relate this situation to Saudi Arabia?
> I would’ve loved to fight alongside the Covenant again against this universe threatening ancient evil, but I suppose fighting alongside friendly Prometheans is a good alternative.
This Red vs Blue thing goes far beyond what 343i has told us. This thing goes back 100,000’s of years. It is a deep seeded hatred between the two colors they may never be resolved.
