Hello everyone!
I’m looking to start recording Halo game clips and sharing them, either through YouTube or Instagram (or both) but I require the community’s help!
What exactly do I need to start, aside from playing Halo? >_<
Any and all information is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
You could use the xbox DVR system, but the quality won’t be good.
Or you could use an external recorder (hdpvr, elgato, etc.). It may cost a pretty penny but the quality will be top notch, and you won’t have a limit on recording lengths.
What I do is make a game clip with the record that function… just double tapping the console button and pressing x.
Then I go to waypoint since DVR doesn’t work, waypoint saves clips from MCC and halo 5 so I just use those two games.
Then just download the clip and upload them to YouTube.

scratches back of head We had trouble with the first 57540 models…
I knew of the Xbox DVR, but was looking for something else aside from that.
Would the external recorder need to be connected to a computer or laptop?

If you want to manage clips on your Xbox there is Upload Studio where you can trim clips and such

First, use the DVR feature on your Xbox and record your clips as they happen… then on XboxDVR.com, look up your GT and right-click/save your clips that you want to work with…
Then bring them into a video editor and with a little bit of patience and creativity, you can put out decent videos.
For example, this was all made through this process and using iMovie on Mac…

What happened to them? Did they just “blow up”

I said OR, not saying they should need to buy them. Just if you want better picture quality.

dvr is good quality, if you use the website, viewing it on your xbox is a totally different story
Here’s what I recommend OP.
If your on a budget and can’t afford the fancy schmancy gizmos of the modern era, go with xbox game DVR. Free and quality is ok…ish.
Sitting on a good pile of cash in your bank account courtesy of a good paying job? Then I suggest you pick up an Elgato Capture Card. They’re expensive without a doubt, but they have the quality. Browse the available capture cards Elgato has to offer BEFORE you make your purchase. Some Elgato Capture cards can only do so much, and provide so much, but they will get the job done.

This way does seem to be the easiest, even though somewhat time consuming, but it’s a place to start!
