I’ve been reading post forums, and comments about Halo 3 Anniversary, and I gotta say, this is not going well everybody expected. I’m pretty sure theirs a reason why Frank O’ Connor says no, but if he were to yes, for Halo 3 Anniversary, then the Master Chief Collection would have to be updated.
Here’s how I believe why:
When I first played the Halo 2 Anniversary in 2014, I was astonished how cinematic cutscenes turned out, and it’s like watching a movie.
Back when I played Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary in 2011, I had high expectations, but it didn’t have enough cinematic realism, even tough I was impressed by the remastered graphics and musics.
If their were to be a Halo 3 Anniversary coming out this year, I would be amazed.
However it’s not up to me, it’s only up to Frank O’ Connor to decide, and that was his choice.
I have a feeling some of you will be begging him to change his mind, but that will not work that way. For now, we are to remain uninformed by 343 Industries not telling us anything (no leaks), so if your waiting for a Halo 3 Anniversary, I wouldn’t hold your breath just yet. I mean, I still would like to see a Halo 3 Anniversary, but who knows, maybe something secret would come up at E3 2017, even tough Phil Spencer said theirs no Halo game lineup for this year. Perhaps a teaser trailer might help, especially Halo 6, and besides, I don’t think remake games is such a waste.
What are your thoughts about the Halo 3 Anniversary so far?
I posted about this a couple of days ago, regarding H3A and its most probable existence. I, for one, most certainly believe it’s happening this year, more than likely a title for the Scorpio. There’s too much evidence against Frank O’Connor’s denial. When it comes to Halo, Microsoft has never been one to shy away from an opportunity, especially if it’s a remaster of one of their crown jewels.
I’d say keep your eyes open this year at E3 in June/July. I’d wager we’ll see both a H3A reveal, alongside a Halo 6 cinematic trailer.
There’s been a lot of Halo 3 Anniversary topics popping up lately. I believe it started emerging last week when there was a glimpse of a Halo 3 picture at AMD Radeon RX Vega Promo in Korea. After that, there’s been two claims on the Halo subreddit that Halo 3 is not jhappening by a HaloFrankie (Frank O’ Connor?) and Se7ch343 (343 Industries’ Community Manager)
HaloFrankie’s comment:
“It’s not happening. Not sure why they used this art, but there is no Halo 3 Anniversary game being made. We’ve stated this many times. Sorry.”
se7ch’s comment:
“I’ve been here just about 6 months now and haven’t ever heard of one single mention of Halo 3 coming to Steam nor Halo 3 anniversary being made. In fact, it’s been completely debunked multiple times over. Sorry to say but there’s no plans nor any work underway to make this happen. (though personally I can’t deny it would be sweet)”
My thoughts on Halo 3 Anniversary:
I wouldn’t deny that having a Halo 3 Anniversary would be amazing because I’m interested to see how 343i will update the cinematic cutscenes and how different the game’s graphics will be compared to the old Halo 3’s shiny armor. However I believe the remastered game will not be coming out soon enough, probably after Halo 6 or even later. I said this before in another forum; we had a Halo 3 game on Xbox 360 that majority of the community has played. Then we received MCC; a Halo game that consists all the FPS Halo games (except Reach) on the Xbox One now on 2014 (which includes the regular Halo 3 game but now playable on Xbox One). Don’t you think it’s weird to have a second Halo 3 game on the same console? I just think it’s too soon have the same game in a short period of time. Also Halo 5 is reaching it’s 2 year mark and each halo trilogy title so far has been undergoing a 3 year development (except Halo 3 which took 4 years I think). If anything, we might be seeing a glimpse of Halo 6 soon at Halo E3 this year. If 343i denies a Halo 3a, then I hope their attention is on Halo 6.
