Okay, so i’ve just obtained the final vidmasters in order to obtain what i thought to be Recon. But, unfortunately not. I can’t see any way in which to ‘claim’ my Recon, I’ve signed in and out multiple times, reloaded the game multiple times, but yet, no Recon…
I know that 343 have been giving it out for free of late, but didn’t that start over a month ago? I’m yet to obtain my ‘free’ Recon… If someone can help me I’d deeply appreciate it 
The recon is still being given out, millions of gamertags will have played on Halo 3, they are going through a list of all the gamertags that have played Halo 3 from September 2007 until this date, that will take a long time.

Yes, but that still doesn’t answer why i can’t unlock it the traditional way, through the Vidmasters?

343i had no plans to support any sort of in-depth stat tracking for Halo 3 on Waypoint at the time of the transfer, which means they also had no plans to continue to the Road to Recon which required the seven Vidmasters to be unlocked.
They decided to instead, give the armour to everyone, rather than making it impossible to get.
