Its kinda weird but if it gets everyone playing Halo 3 then im all onboard! 343 should also think about unleashingthe bungie flames aswell.
The Bungie flames won’t be released, the only way to do so is to force the Bungie nameplate on everyone like Bungie had to do in 2010 on Bungie Day, which they didn’t even like because it ruined people’s choice of having no nameplate or the septagon.
I thought the flames were separate from the name plate like reaches. Hmmm…good call!
I think the worth of recon has been steadily declining since Reach came out. I mean Halo 3 is almost 5 years old now so the amount of people that care about recon armor has declined, and with no demand the supply becomes devalued, simple economics. I think the OP is right, giving it to everyone at least motivated some people to play Halo 3 to check out the armor if they didn’t have it already.
As I said before, I think they should give it to worthy players, not to everyone, like to people who made 79/79 G on Halo 3, or every achievement for every Halo game via WayPoint. But I suppose they’re too concentrated on Halo 4 to do something for a game that isn’t even their game…

I actually didn’t wear mine until I unlocked the last challenge I needed, Endure, a few days later.

yeah but like I said, Recon isn’t worth much I mean offering it to only a select few players is not going to entice other players to go back to Halo 3, the best move was to give it to everyone as it is basically worthless now anyways.
