Hey guys! AS most of you know, 343 started waves giving out recon back sometime in 2012. Many people haven’t gotten it yet… Including me. I have had the game since January of 2013. I know what you guys at 343 are going to say… ‘Be patient’. I’d just like some more information. Are you guys still doing the waves? If so, then continue and please try to get to everyone. That truly,truly,sucks. Hopefully on the research I did online they may still be sending out waves monthly… If not, at least I have it in Halo Reach. XD I feel bad for the people that didn’t get it if its true…

I feel sorry for you. 
I think you can still get it by doing all the Vidmaster Challenges though. If you have time and people to help you, you should try them. I might do some Halo 3 Vidmaster challenge achievements if there are people who want to get it.

The Vidmaster achievements have nothing to do with getting Recon armour anymore. 343 didn’t include any way to unlock it on Halo Waypoint for those who completed them after Bungie left. Thats why they were giving it out to everyone.

Ok thanks for the info. So you used to be able to get it from vidmasters when bungie were making Halo, but not anymore?

Yeah. There used to be a section on bungie.net where (once you did all the Vidmasters) you could click a button and it would unlock it to use on your account. There is nothing like this on Halo Waypoint, hence why 343 started giving it to everyone.
It’s cool that people still have feelings for things in a 6 year old game, really! But you have to think again, it’s been 6 years. The time in which you could have earned recon was a while back, sure, but who’s fault was it that they didn’t accomplish the challenge of getting all the vidmasters? Who’s fault was it that they didn’t log on to Halo 3 when 343i actually gave it out for free, no questions asked?
I feel like they shouldn’t just give it out like last time; it would make the armor just as common as Mark VI or CQB… While the number of people who have recon armor went up by tons, it would still be nice to keep the armor in its somewhat uncommon state. I think 343i should figure out how to unlock recon for people who beat the vidmasters (they couldn’t figure it out, that’s why they just gave it away. That’s what I’ve heard).
