I was wondering about the Recon Helmet and Armor. I have the Recon Helmet in my armory list, and was wondering if that will be unlocked via normal play or it needs a code… ? I saw a discussion on the 343 forums about a code for the Recon Helmet. I like the look of Jun’s armor setup. Is there an unlockable chest plate that has the ghillie suit hood like the one he wears?

Um…what? I have no idea who told you it was only available in the US version or by pre order but they are talking complete nonsense.
I live in the UK and I have the Recon armour unlocked just by ranking up. The armour is in every version of the game. The only Recon helmet variant that was available through pre order is the UA/HUL variant (as stated in the link you provided). If you didn’t have a code to enter, then only 2 variants are available to unlock through normal playing and ranking up.
But yes OP, the Recon armour CAN be unlocked simply by ranking up in ALL versions of the game.

Thank you for the replies. I was wanting to setup my player to look like Jun, and wasn’t sure how much of his armor set was available. I like the recon/sniper look of his character.

Recon ua/hul[3]- Recon helmet with a blast visor and a Bluetooth added to the helmet making the wearer better suited for war.
Obtainable by pre ordering the game from GameStop, bestbuy, and other places.
Also included in the limited and legendary edition bundle.
Ua/Multithreat chestpiece- Chest piece with grenades on the waist, with an extra piece of armor for padding on the chest.
Worth:$10 on eBay (as of 2014)
Obtainable by pre ordering halo reach from GameStop.

Legendary flaming helmet - Obtained from the legendary version of halo reach.
Worth: $300+ on eBay (as of 2014)
Elite officer armor - Obtained from buying the halo reach limited edition, included in the legendary edition.

I did some looking around, which I could have done prior to posting this, and found some answers. The armor items I am interested in are not the pre-order/limited edition pieces. I just have to wait, and wait, and continue waiting until I rank up enough. Man, it takes forever to rank up! I have made it to Warrant Officer 1 in three days, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much. Thank you all again for your responses.

recon is pre order obtainable or buy able in game but you can find the helmet pre order codes on amazon
i checked amazon i only could find the recon armor

False information like that can be found easily. You won’t know if it’s fake or not if your researching about it.
I hope you realized that Jun doesn’t even were Recon. I might be a couple of years late but, after achieving the rank of Mythic within the first two years of the games release, I feel qualified in telling you to maybe play the campaign once or twice if you haven’t already done so. -Burn bright, burn blue-
