Does anyone know how to unlock Recon armour? Ive got all the vidmasters but I can’t find a button that says “Unlock Recon” since you had to do it through bungie.net before 343 took over
I’m afraid it’s too late to acquire Recon armor. It was given out by both Bungie and 343 Industries as far as I’ve heard, but they are no longer giving it away. Completing the Vidmaster challenges will no longer give you the armor either, but congratulations on completing such a feat.
Can flames still be activated, maybe on holidays?

Has there been any word as to further waves of unlocks from 343? I thought it would be logical, what with the spotlight being back on H3 currently.

It wouldn’t matter if it was logical. From what I understand, 343 gave out Recon during the switchover because they had no intention of keeping it as a working system. In other words, it’s been shut down.
Everyone who has Recon at this point will keep it, everyone who doesn’t will never get it.
Frankly I’m quite ill of these Recon armor discussions, the meme has probably been dead for a while now at Bungie Studios… They likely give none two damns about an armor that doesn’t even hold a candle to the reputation of other armor systems anymore (ODST, the ubiquitous Mark IV, and the classic Mark V).
Hell, I was sold with the initial design of the Mark V in Halo 3 (though the in-game Mark V wasn’t as cool as its concept art)

Really? If anything, you should be even more happy with your own Recon, knowing what you achieved to get it. If you got the achievements or Bungie gifted it to you or whatever, then your Recon set is obviously more special compared to people who had it given to them by 343! The armour set is the same, but how it was acquired isn’t, and that should be good enough for you, right?
As for me, I was too late to get Recon either by doing the achievements or getting it from 343, so I can’t ever have it in the original game, which is pretty disappointing, but it is what it is.
