Is it just me but most of the games I have played on Halo 4 when somebody shoots me I seem the flinch a lot higher making it harder to shoot the opposing enemy but when I watch is ‘kill cam’ it seems he has no recoil or flinching at all? Is this because of the kill cam shows me different because it can be a bit laggy or is it just me?
Yea, there’s recoil when getting hit.
Frankly it pisses me off.
On my 130+ games I haven’t noticed any flinching
Another horrible mechanic implemented into Halo.
I typically don’t have much flinching. And it’s incredibly annoying that we can’t knock snipers out of their scopes anymore, if someone talented with the weapon (I am not lol) get’s it there’s no way to stop them. And I’ve gotten killed a few times because I expected to be shot out of my scope, but instead stayed zoomed in and got beat down.
I preferred the forced zoom out. That way it was more skillful because each player was scrambling to zoom back in or find cover. Halo 4’s mechanic adds to a lot of lucky kills simply because it flinches into a headshot.
Yeah, I definitely prefer being unscoped to having flinch. And I think even though it was frustrating to get caught in a loop (getting shot, scoping in, getting shot, etc] in previous games, it’s much MUCH more frustrating when you have no possibility to land your shots unless you stop firing and shoot a split-second later. There are some situations, namely against the DMR, that you just can’t win without luck.
I can see a ton of people going for the Rogue specialization just to get that stability upgrade so they don’t have to deal with flinch.
Personally I think it’s a good mechanic implented in the game. Realistically take a few shots to your head or chest, you are not just going to walk through it like rain. Adds a bit more skill requiring you to adjust and land those shots while under fire. Hence why they also have that new rogue perk just for that reason.

Exactly my thoughts.
I sorta torn between shot out of scope and staying in scope, shot out because then you have to use your skills to find cover and dodge the enemies incoming bullets or lasers or what not, but I like the fact that when you get shot and your still in zoom it doesn’t necessarily mean ‘Oh great he shot me first I can’t zoom back in to kill him am dead’ but it gives more a equal fair advantage, either way I still can fail when playing Halo 4 and Halo 3 … just a lot more at Halo 3, but there should be some restrictions on snipers especially the Binary rifle, most of the time iv just ‘quick scoped’ the enemy who is relatively close just because well I can and it is a kill for me, maybe a play list which features shot out of scope and stayed in scope maybe? Either way I’d try them out.

Just no. People should not be using the realism argument in a Halo game.
It has never been like this and I don’t understand why 343 had to ‘fix’ something which wasn’t even broken in the first place.
They added some flinching, instead of you being zoomed out when shot.
The latter being far more disadvantageous. And flincing is nothing in close-quarters.
I don’t mind flinching, you just have to adjust your shot really no problem. Do the Rogue specialisation and unlock stability if it bothers you that much.

some guns flinch more than others, and getting shot by certain guns (sniper makes you flinch to the skies lol) make you flinch more
the flinching balances a lot of the game weaponry, It can be real annoying to me when I am ABOUT TO GET A DOuBLE KILL and a sniper round goes through my chest and I’m suddenly looking at the sky. But it is called having stopping power. I like that. I HATE unscoping. Sometimes unscoping facilitates a kill as well such as being scoped, getting attacked in your face suddenly. and you unscope to fight normally. I like the current changes.
Cry some more… FYI, There is a spec to fix this too.
all of the new halo 4 mechanics kind of fit my play style. i notice the flinch when im hit only rarely but i havent looked into it so it maybe only a certain weapon. also these guys maybe super soldiers but who the hell doesnt flinch when they get shot.
