Simple question: Would you rather have recoil in all the guns where your gun will slightly move up when holding the trigger or spamming single shots so that it will add realism but make every gun balanced and useful instead of the BR being the universal gun in all previous Halos?
The recoil will not be exagerated like bloom and will just be to prevent spamming, provide more dmg, and give a sense like the gun is powerful. Crouching will also stop recoil so it gives an incentive for players to play tactically and moving the analog stick slightly down while shooting will help against recoil when not crouching.
I don’t want it to be too drastic to the point where gameplay is slowed down but it doesn’t hurt. I don’t like crouching stopping recoil outright though. That’ll cause people to play much more defensively and defensive gameplay means less fun.
The BR wasn’t “universal” in Halo 3. If you fought a guy at close range with a BR and he had an AR, he would destroy you, don’t you where that even came from.
Reece I know what you talking about defensive. While I agree with you defensive might be good also. For objectives I think “defensive” needs to be more introduced into Halo while Slayer doesn’t need it, but remember the recoil will not be so drastic. It will be minimal but it will totally be removed once crouched.
Carthee, IMO the BR was almost universal I even used BR close range at times cause I felt it was the best weapon and sometimes more powerful than power weapons depending on the scenario. Ocasionally I used the AR and SMG but the BR shouldn’t even cross my mind when up close and thats why they need to balance all the guns out.

I would rather not have recoil at all, at least on precision weapons. It’s just going to be the same annoying thing as the bloom on the DMR, (depending on how they design the recoil). You just have to shoot slower in order to aim accurately, and it’s just a handicap. Why would anyone think that’s fun? Because it’s “more real”? Try taking a bullet to the chest and stay standing if you think FPS’s should be real.
I guess this is just my opinion but the SMG recoil was fine for whatever reason. Maybe it was because it had a large bullet spread and fire rate so it wasn’t that much of a handicap and you weren’t expecting to be precise anyway.
I wouldn’t shoot for realism. I would rather have recoil for the BR where it shoots up. Though they said it would have recoil so I don’t understand the point of asking.

I know its confirmed for the BR I am talking about all guns.
first, i dont think it would benifit the game all that much and i wouldnt like it too much(opinion)
second, if halo was realistic most of the human guns(AR DMR BR ect.) wouldnt work because the clip is set so far back in the riffle that ther would be no room for a bolt to chamber the rounds , not to mention that there is no way that you could fit 32 ammos in the small clip the AR has.
this is not a bad thing because halo is more conserned about being a badyoink game then a real game witch i think makes it cooler (opinion)

It wouldnt be anything like bloom and you can prevent the recoil by crouching or moving the analog stick to aim slightly down if you spraying.

Yeah but doesn’t that just seem like a lot of extra -Yoink- to add? It’s not like the SMG where it had a high fire rate, fully automatic and large hit radius. It’s already a challenge to shoot accurately with a precision weapon, just like using the sniper. Why handicap a gun that’s already challenging to use

Because it is all powerful and makes every other weapon in the game useless. Besides, aren’t these forums always whining about how Reach has no skill gap? Well there ya go, extra skill gap.

I can’t see it with any current ones, and I can’t say much with the new guns because I have no idea what they are. The only old gun I could imagine that it would work with is the Sniper Rifle and Beam Rifle. Maybe the pistol

I think more recoil would be amazing, it would feel so much more powerful when shooting a gun.

I never liked the idea of crouching to have less recoil/bloom. It just makes it so strafing becomes useless and not even fun.
Recoil should be like Halo 3’s BR. Goes up and down every shot but sometimes makes it a tiny little bit more difficult to target a jumping person.
