I know that this is kind of irrelevant and I know that Halo 6 is a LONG ways away, butbutbutbut… let me just ask: How do you think Halo 6 will end? I personally think the last level will be a well done boss fight with the Didact or Primordial, and then a Warthog run with the Halo theme as background music. It seems like a fitting finale to the trilogy to me. What about you guys?
No suggestions? Okay.
I think it’ll be a much desired boss fight against either:
A) The Gravemind (since Primordial is dead and just lives on in Graveminds)
B) A sort of pseudo-boss fight against/on one of the last remaining Star Roads.
C) A boss fight against a Metarch A.I. (Offensive Bias, where’d you go buddy!?)
All I know is it needs a really, really satisfying boss fight. I’m rooting for A) all the way though. The Gravemind/Precursors/Flood are the ultimate nemesis, and they deserve a really satisfying fight.
As for the finale? John activating at least one Halo if not the entire array in a desolate region of the galaxy, essentially sacrificing himself to destroy the final, real resistance of the Flood while everyone else retreats. Somewhat similar to Halo 3 unfortunately… but I cannot say I would prefer Halo to end ANY other way than for a Halo activation to be what we’re left with.
Just imagine it: John activating Omega Halo (the last survivor of the original array) while the Gravemind/Flood hone in on his position, the other allied forces retreating via the very last Forerunner Dreadnought or Fortress Class ship (all other ships being docked within it).
As the Array activates, we’re met with a truly stunning, beautiful display/cutscene. After the desolation of the Halo, the camera slowly pans out, the original Halo theme/monks doing their thing in the background, the lone Halo hanging desolate in the universe.
A post-credits scene would show the eventual fate of everyone else/the Halo Array involved in the games.
…
…
I just want a Halo activation.
Humanity, Sangheili and the rest of the Covenant client races become the new Forerunners, learn from the mistakes of the old Forerunners and Precursors, and set off to find other races in the galaxy to welcome them in a new “Covenant” of peace and brotherhood.
Silentium was an amazing book. It answered every question I had. I don’t know about the end of Halo 6, maybe it’ll be something entirely different. Maybe the Flood will recreate the Forerunners and send them after Humanity as a final test to see if we’re truly worthy of the Mantle? Halo always throws curveballs, so I don’t think it’ll be anything predictable. Everyone thought (myself included) the metallic planet at the end of Halo 3 was Onyx and the Chief would rescue the Spartans and other humans trapped inside, but then Requiem was introduced.

I never thought that… pretty sure Onyx was no longer a planetoid by the time of the Lesser Ark incident. Meh, too lazy to check dates though. The Onyx incident happened around mid-Halo 2 (the time they discovered Delta Halo). So while the two were close together, I do believe Onyx activated and fell apart before John would have arrived at it. X)
