Reclaimer saga ending

I’m fully preparing myself for the reclaimer saga to finish with the chief and cortana both dying together in an emotional but ultimately satisfying conclusion

I can’t see any other logical or feasible outcome when they do finally reunite and if written well it really sets up halo series for 343i being able to tell a lot more flexible stories moving foward.

Halo has always been at its heart the adventures of chief and cortana, you can’t really have one without the other. Remember you heard it here first or feel free to bag me out in 18 months time if I’m wrong.

I feel you’re wrong. At some point in time Halo will end but it will only end with 343 being on the upside. They’ve been on a downslide and did a lot of things wrong in the campaign of H5. They have to make Halo relevant again before they finish off MC Halo.

I highly doubt this is the last game for Chief. Chief can easily be in more games without Chief, he only knew Cortana for a short amount of time. He knew others like Blue Team much longer, for decades. Also, Halo is much larger than just Chief, though Chief is my favorite character.

Oddly enough, it does kind of look like that’s whats happening. Now I can never say that that is what’s happening for sure, since I sure don’t know, and the ending scenes of the 2019 trailer isn’t a lot to go off of to make any solid conclusions. However, I can say that it can be assumed(while on little) that that conclusion can be reached.

However, it also probably is unlikely, considering this is titled a saga and not a trilogy and Halo: Infinite is known as an entry point for new people of the series. if that were to happen in Halo: Infinite, all the development of Chief and Cortana would have died with them since their character arcs would end there. Doesn’t really feel right to introduce the main protagonist and his guide(or, used to be guide) to new players just for them to die at the end with no more continuation. As it could be compelling emotionally, I’d genuinely hate it much more than enjoy it considering what Halo: Infinite is holding itself up to be for Chief and the Halo franchise as a whole.

Chief’s not that old, especially considering his super soldier augmentations. I sincerely hope this is not his last game because there’s a lot of fight left in him.

343i has made it pretty obvious they want to move beyond Chief and Cortana and anything that ties them down to Bungie. That’s why my theory on what the campaign will be (we skipped the Created War, Evil Cortana fired the Rings and killed off most of the galaxy, the Chief is going to collect the fragments of Good Cortana and use her to absorb Evil Cortana and then both of them die in the big finish) a way for them to basically hit the reset button so whatever future games will give them the opportunity to do whatever they want with the franchise and go in whatever direction they please.

I don’t know, Chief’s appearance in this game doesn’t look like they’re trying to “move away from Bungie”. They tried that in their last two games. How did that work out? That ending is the worst possible ending they could aim for. Its much more likely that Dr. Halsey created a replica Cortana with the express purpose of being a sacrificial lamb. She’ll absorb the evil Cortana and self-destruct. I don’t know why people have this idea in their heads that Chief has to die beside her. Chief is not Romeo and Cortana is not Juliet.

I hope they don’t do that because that sounds AWFUL. While I do think it would be poetic for the two characters that kicked off the franchise together to die together, I’m much more interested in seeing Chief develop as a character through hardship such as having to kill Cortana himself. Even him just dealing with Cortana being dead without having her come back a couple weeks later would be nice.

Halo won’t end with Infinite. Could it be the end of MC? Maybe but highly doubtful. Halo is a big universe and still has many stories to tell.
