Recently Played Option in Forge and Custom Games

There needs to be some sort of system in place in which you can load and save maps used in multiplayer.

I haven’t played Halo 3 in very very long time, but I remember there being a “Recently Played” or “Recent Games” option in which you were able to load both maps and game modes of the games you had recently played. This function enabled the ability to save/download maps used in multiplayer and custom game lobbies, enabling the use of those maps for several possibilities:

  • Load the map in custom games and learn the layout and power weapon locations - Use multiplayer maps for competitive play against your friends - Load the map in forge to learn how a particular function or aesthetic was accomplished - Quick method to save fun custom games you recently played on and enjoyed - Several other possibilitiesPlaying Halo 5, I have played several maps in various multiplayer playlists that I wished to use for the functions above, but have been unable to do so. A particular experience is when I wanted to use the map Altitude 2.0 (a map in the breakout map rotation) to do a 2v2 with some friends, but I was unable to do so.

Please add this feature in a future update.

I was actually thinking this as well. There were some really fun maps that I played in customs yesterday, but I didn’t know what they were and wasn’t able to find them again. A recently played option would be great!

As long as I have the option to hide certain maps from temporary history sure. It’s nice being able to playtest maps without having to worry about people “stealing” maps. Maybe hide private files from it?

What I remember in Halo 3, anyone who played on a map and/or game mode would have it available to them in the “Recently Played”, but I think a privacy option in the file settings would be a good idea and not too much of a hassle to add.

I’d like to state, that I think this is still relevant and is a key feature that has been missing for some time with no explanation. I also wanted to contribute the idea that being able to directly download maps and playlists and all previous versions of maps and playlists that have been previously implemented would be a good idea as well. Allowing us access to everything from launch in game. Including each versions of the maps as they go along.

Going through the new file share though it has its advantages feels too much of a hassle for me. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth scrolling through it. Maybe it’s just me though I do appreciate it for what it does faster browsing and etc
