Although I’ve heard people saying that there is no question that the new enemies will be precursors, I think that there is a good chance of the new enemies being forerunners. After all, Greg Bear has written 2 books about the forerunners so far with a third on the way. But all forerunners supposedly went extinct because they sacrificed themselves to rid the galaxy of flood for a while, so one could argue that since forerunners are dead, precursors would have to be the new enemy. Anyway, what do you guys think based upon our current knowledge? Will the new enemies be forunners or precursors?

All signs point to the precursors. But the xbox magazine says we fight the creator of the halo rings, the master builder. Which makes no sense at all.
I think the new enemy will be Precursors. I say this because the new enemy seems like it’s going to be something we wouldn’t be expecting. If they are keeping the enemy a secret, it probably wouldn’t be the Forerunners, 'cus they’re mentioned in the books casually. I also think that there will be Forerunners that survived within the shield world.

can you please elaborate on what signs are pointing to it being precursor? i personally think its the forerunners cause from the books it doesnt seem like the master builder likes humans.

Well, I do agree with you about an enemy that we’re not expecting. But if 343 wants the enemy to be something we’d never suspect, wouldn’t it be neither forerunner nor precursor?
