I am confused as to why the thread labelled “Halo 2 Anniversary: Non-Leaked Hints” was locked and it’s OP edited?
I read the thread before it was locked and nothing within was inappropriate or leaked, in fact all it gave us was information about what two Microsoft reps said that hinted at Halo 2 Anniversary?
How is that lock worthy? It was completely relevant and had confirmed/official information, and some speculation. No part of it included leaks of any kind, or any form of inappropriate language, or content.
I’m rather confused as well but I didn’t see the original text so…
The entire topic of a Halo 2 Anniversary is a leak in general. Take that however you will, but just don’t talk about it until official confirmation is revealed or it is debunked. That is the safe thing.

While we’re discussing topics being locked for seemingly weird reasons, why was the player waypoints thread locked?
I mean, did we get a new monitor recently or something?

I don’t know, I’ve heard rumours from people on Bungie.net that this forum was a joke because mods hand out bans like it’s going out of style, but before today I didn’t take it with a grain of salt.

I don’t think that matters. Is it a bit extreme? You could argue that, but this is the kind of control that any decent developer forum would use when it comes to as of yet unconfirmed projects. The same thing happened on Bungie.net as well with previous Halo games.
Just after the unnamed source (I ain’t risk in no ban) dropped the video about the various rumours, the mods were just hitting all the threads to do with those rumours.
Nothing shouts guilty like blatent over defensiveness, right?
Anyway, I’m sure whatever 343’s play is, they’ll do it in their own time. For now I would just keep talk about such rumours to a minimum, here at least.
