Any chance that a fully customizable button layout could be implemented in the full game? It’s not that the presets are bad, but I feel like I’d have even more fun if I could manually transfer in the controls from other games that I play. Also, PC players have been able to do this for years; why can’t we?
it would be nice to get legacy to work along with inverted aim. Can’t even play this. Where’s legacy love?

That sounds like a pretty niche problem, and that’s the point. Having total freedom to switch the buttons absolves 343 of having to cater to each person individually. It’s the best for everyone involved.
Unlikely. Can’t recall the last console game I played which actually had proper keymapping. Bizarre that they don’t include it these days. I mean with the MCC I’ve mostly got the controls the same across the games except between two of them where the buttons for the flashlight and grenade switch are reversed for no reason. I sense that Halo 5 is totally going to revamp the controls anyway.

To be fair to 343, I first made this thread at the beginning of the beta when I was still adjusting. By the end of it, I was completely comfortable; bumper jumper works extremely well. However that’s still not an excuse. Valve’s first person console games have mapping, so should this one.
Can’t even recall the last console game that allowed manual button mapping.

I agree. Im left handed and because the buttons are always on the right it would mean I would have to stop moving to use them.
I’ve always wanted to be able to switch the button setup to the DPad so I can use southpaw

I know I already mentioned this, but Valve games have this feature.
