Reasons why I cant stand the Halo community

I’m guessing you’re referring to Facestabs, and Pyros setting people on fire through the starting gates? What else are you talking about?

But, when it really comes down to it, if you, say, picked any game at random, or maybe a game that you’ve really wanted to be made for a long time (don’t you dare say Half-Life 3), who would you want to do it, Valve, or 343? Or, should I say, who do you think would be more reliable?

At the very least, they’ve got a great sense of balance going for them. (Don’t you dare mention the Dead Ringer now.)

Also, HATS! When’s the last time 343 gave us hats?!

Fanbases of every game has Sore losers.

How can you see we have no appreciation? I appreciate Halo 3.

> While i do agree that valve makes great games, when it comes to updates and bug fixes for tf2 and counter strike are either nonexistent or even worse… Hats are nice and flashy, but I’d rather see the wonky hit boxes and hit detection fixes, also fixing bugs that were in the game since FREAKING 2007!

Give examples, please, since i cant think of any groundbreaking bugs in TF2 that have been there since 07.

I salute you good sir. I feel the exact same way about the majority of the Halo community.

The big 2 we’re listen by el Tigre.

  1. Faces tabs being insta kill
  2. Being able to kill the enemy tam before a match starts
  3. The multitude of little buggy areas where players can stand on. The whole game…
  4. Pyro being able to light fire threw certain walls
  5. The soda popper glitch which means basically free cries any time you want…

And that’s only a few to name…

> I my self absolutely LOVE Halo and most of all playing it due to amazing story, re-playability, adrenaline filled multiplayer action, endless options to customize your game, of course Halo games always have flaws, so does every other game. No game is perfect, but for some reason most of the Halo community doesnt understand that.

Welcome to the internet. Scarasm aside every community is like this. All though IMO halo has also some of the best community members period.

1.Facestab itself is basically fixed now, but If it still happens, its because of laggy server.
2.thats a fail with certain wall/gate placement, hardly groundbreaking (or this could be a no clip hack)
3.again, hardly groundbreaking. Even if you put a sentry gun on some glitchy spot, a good demo can take it down with a medic.
4.see number 2, and this one isn’t groundbreaking either.
5.never heard of this, since alot of Scouts don’t even use SP alot these days, since Scattergun and FaN are more powerful compared to it.

and besides, Scouts are easy targets to kill.

You see, none of these a groundbreaking bugs, and SP wasn’t released with the game. It came out with the Über-update in 2010

Well, there are those of us who enjoy the game for what it is. Ill just leave it at that.

> Also, HATS! When’s the last time 343 gave us hats?!

We have helmets. One of which im wearing right now.

Too bad you guys are the minority.

True, but the majority of the community is sadly utter crap.

Hey now, no need to say something like that.
I don’t believe majority of the community is like that, and that can be considered flaming other people, which is against the forum rules.

> True, but the majority of the community is sadly utter crap.

Most of the time, it’s just one person who say “You’re bad” when I play Shotgun Ricochet and they beat me in points.

  1. It still happens, I’m guessing it’s because the game is slow as far as registering where the player is facing since I could get face stabs fairly easy
  2. Yeah it is, there are so many open spots at he begging of most gates that red team could more or less destroy anyone coming close to the gate before the match starts…
  3. Yeah it can be, I’ve seen every class except heavy up on places like that and they are often able to stop a good chunk of the team before they get take Down
Let’s not forget th e teleporter and sentry in the sky glitch that has ruined 2Fort for me. Can’t use demo man on those.
  4. Lighting so wine on fire while being in another room. And not being able to take damage? Yeah it is…
  5. Free critical anytime you want can be pretty annoying, considering how fast the soda popper fires alone, you can down any class in seconds any time…

That’s OP

So what you are basically saying you don’t want to have any sort of constructive dialogue and so this thread is nothing more than one big flamefest in the making? When you start making ad hominem attacks, and that applies to those making fun of Halo 4 lovers too, why should anyone care what you have to say anymore? What is the point of this thread now? To vent? Not very constructive.

1.Or, the other player could be experiencing lag, or you are performing a ‘‘shoulder-stab’’.
Alot of people dont know this, but the right shoulder of any class is also a 1-hit kill. This was made that players couldnt hide in corners with theyre backs to the wall and prevent the Spy from killing them.

2.Now that is impossible. Nothing can pass the starting gates, but some maps have small holes in the gate, that allow, for example, a Pyro to hurt some players that are too close to the door. Not groundbreaking at all. And, as for the starting areas being so large in most maps is because it would teach players not to run into the battle, and they would also appreciate the UBER-Charge.

3.That sky glitch has been fixed years ago, and using 2Fort as an example of broken map isnt a good example, since everyone knows nobody likes it, and Valve has given up on fixing anything on it, since its so broken. Also, if it can take down a good chunk of the other team, then it means the other team is bad. Very bad.

4.Never heard of this glitch, and not even the Steam Forums knew about this glitch. Most likely fixed years ago, of it did exist. Please provide video proof of this, if this still exists.

5.Are you sure you are not talking about the build-in ability that Soda Popper has that it can deal Mini-Crits when the user has walked a certain distance? Since i took a look at the code of this gun, and it says the gun is not capable of creating critical hits.
And again, Scouts are easy targets to kill.

How did I get from a halo community discussion to a tf2 glitch discussion?

  1. I still stand by what I said, valve needs to work on narrowing the 1hk distance, since I can still get them by just side stepping a guy and hitting his front shoulder or jumping and getting 1hk on the very top of a head.
  2. Those holes have been exploded so much that they need to be patched…

I cant tell you how many headshots I’ve got as a sniper before a match even started, those holes are easy to find and dominating…
3.i used to play in highlander back in the day when reach MLG was dieting out, and you’ d be surprised how advantageous those areas can be, even against pros or EU players…

Also, your right about the teleported glitch being fixed, but it’s still on orange box so I’m half right

  1. I’ll record this glitch next time I get on, PM me your steam profile and I’ll screenshot it.

Seems to be most prevalent on the maps goldrush and we’ll

  1. There’s a glitch that has yet to be fixed that makes the scout really OP.

When running with the soda popper, you can switch to your melee or secondary right as you get close to crits, and if you shot your melee or secondary then immediately switch to your soda popper, you’ll have mini crits that last until you die… Combined with the soda poppers fast fire rate, you can destroy heavies in mere seconds with this…

For those who don’t play tf2, think the beam rifle with speed boat and damage boost…

Also. While a bad scout is easy to kill. A good scout can last longer than most of the other classes…

I apologize, didnt mean to be so vulgar, lets just say that, the majority of the community could be alot better.

On another note, could we please stay on topic and discuss about tf2 on forums that are made for it and stick to the point? Thanks.

> True, but the majority of the community is sadly utter crap.

So you’re saying that the 75%+ that left after launch is “sadly utter crap”? That makes total sense…

Sadly, and to be blunt, 343 made a crappy Halo game.
