Reasons why CTF isn't better or worse.

I understand why some people might think the changes to the CTF are dumb.
But CTF IS a team based gamemode meaning the only way to win is to coordinate with your team, you can’t just lone wolf it and expect to win.
So let’s look at it from a coordinated team’s perspective.
1.Getting kills is not the flag carriers job.
2.Defending the flag carrier is not the flag carriers job.
3.The flag carrier shouldn’t have to drop the flag to defend himself.
4.The flag carrier’s only job to get from point A to point B safely with the flag.
5.Getting kills is the teams job.
6.Defending the flag carrier is the teams job.
7.The teammates shouldn’t let the flag carrier have to drop the flag and defend himself.
8.The team’s only job is to secure a path from point A to point B for the flag carrier.

Let’s look at it from a non-coordinated team’s perspective.
1.The flag carrier should get his own kills, no one loves him.
2.He has a pistol, why should the team defend him?
3.It sucks cause now he can’t drop the flag and kill.
4.The flag carrier should kill everyone and everything in his way and score.
5.The team’s only job is to just walk around, get kills and refuse to do the objective.

Wait, why are you playing CTF if you’re not gonna coordinate with your team? Why are you gonna play CTF if you’re just gonna go for kills? CTF is a gamemode based on team coordination, if you can’t coordinate with your team, don’t play it.

And if you want kills… Play Slayer.

Uggggggggh another one of these threads? Couldn’t you have just put this in one of the others?

Does this LOOK like a thread about hating on anything and everything Halo 4?

There are sufficient treads arguing both sides, you only notice the threads that are ‘hating’ on Halo 4 as those are the only posts you feel motivated to post in. This is true for all forum members, you only give the posts you agree with a quick ‘thank’ rather than muster the effort to argue the other hand.

You DO actually bring up a very good point… People choose to argue endlessly with people they disagree with, but not even care about people that agree with them.

Moral of the story is:
The new additions can affect you in 2 ways.
1.Coordinated team: It would speed up the gameplay.
2.Non-coordinated team: It would slow down the gameplay.

Which encourages coordination in team games.

CTF always took team work to win consistently. The changes do nothing to boost the importance of team work. I would argue it makes it worse. Communication is less relevant as way points will do all the communicating for us.

Well that solves the problem of people not having mics doesn’t it?
And it saves them from being shouted at, my team would always shout at people with no mics in team objectives.

A poor reason to put a Way point over the flag carrier. The changes in CTF seem to do little more than obliterate alternative tactics. The sneaky route and the flag toss up or down to team mates are eliminated. This is shaping up to be repetitive and generic. Like a head butting contest or CoD.

You had to bring up CoD didn’t you? Classic.

IDredMan, please read this thread and contribute your thoughts in there, as opposed to starting yet another thread on this topic. You have made some interesting points after your OP, but many of these have been summarily countered in the thread I’ve linked to above.

Your arguments for these changes are stated as if they are facts and yet they do not contain a single element of evidence with which to substantiate them. If you wish to engage in a logical argument about the merits or disadvantages of these changes, I suggest you read through the thread linked above (which for the most part contains sober and in-depth discussion of the positive and negative aspects of these changes) and post any substantive arguments you feel you have in support of these changes in there.
