Reasons why CoD is only 1# and Halo 4 no.

COD is only #1 because it has had a steady formula keeping its fanbase happy by not changing so the fans wont have a reason to stop playing, because they enjoy it.

Just it, nothing more.

Quantity doesn’t equal Quality.

> Quantity doesn’t equal Quality.

For the most part, CoD is pretty quality. It comes out with interesting new features as consistently as it can, tries to patch things, and is generally enjoyable to play. Granted, some games aren’t as good as others, but, the same goes for Halo.

Also, with the new Trilogy, it looks like the quantity argument is going to become invalid, with Halo coming out from on dev on roughly the same time span as CoD comes out from one dev.

this is true, a lot of people seem to forget that the COD series switched development teams/series each year.

wow cool story bro, now get back to your killstreaks and quickscopes

lol, no.

Overall, Halo 4 is a great game. I can’t say it’s worthy of GOTY, but it’s good nonetheless.

The only thing that really urks me is how stupid the AI is. In Reach the Elites would, for the most part, use cover and fight strategically. In Halo 4, the enemies just throw themselves at you. It’s kind of lame, and overall ruins the experience.

Sadly enough, that can be applied to Halo 4 as well.

True story. Though not as wide spread.

Pretty much. It would be idiotic for Treyarch or IW to make drastic changes to CoD; why would they risk alienating much of their player base and losing many players by making drastic changes none of the players ask for or want?

Why fix whats not broken just give the people what they want they would have a lot more people playing if they kept it the same cause thats what people were honestly expecting. i dont understand why 343 has to take halo and -Yoink- it in the -Yoink-

but thats the thing. if they dont innovate in some way then they dont serparate themselves from bungie. then they get accused of copying bungies formula and lacking in originality. and then people take s -Yoink- on 343i.
its a double standard really because the same thing is happening anyway. although they have shown they are different than bungie.
its a terrible position to be in. they either stick with the original and wind up being stuck in a world of mediocrity and outdated mechanics or try and innovate and maybe eventually have a new #1 title.

COD has got quality and quantity anyone who thinks it doesnt is kidding themselves but lets face it each game only has minor improvements on the last not realy worthy of being called a “new game”

i do like COD but i cant see a reason to buy 1 each year =S
and im surprised its lasted this long with activision driving it into the ground by forcing quantity just like it did with guitar hero

change has the possiblity to go wrong at times but has a greater possiblity of going right

that sounds awfully familiar lol

Because it’s fun…and there are hardcore cod fans.

this is exactly what halo has done and look whats happened.

change for the sake of change is NOT A GOOD THING.

bad change =/= good change

halo 1,2,3 were doing exactly what cod is doing now by adding small changes that wouldnt drastically change the gameplay giving the fanbase what it wants.

all i can say is i know a halo 3.5 game would do better than a halo reach game and a halo reach 2 game(halo 4)

i dont know if i agree with that, yes we would have nostalgia galore, but would it draw in a new audience? would it keep newcommers attention anymore than halo 4 has? it seems doubtful.

> Quantity doesn’t equal Quality.

The OP makes his point in one sentence and you either didnt get it or read it.

His point is ACTUALLY about quality.
Seriously, facepalm.

if a game is good enough people will stick by it and honestly idk if there are any newcomers lol if you own a 360 and havent played a halo game youre doing it wrong.

i joke obviously but i can see the halo “3.5” game doing alot better population wise than the last two titles.
