Hi all. I was wondering what keeps you playing Halo 4? And, if you’ve left, what made you leave?
Personally, I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I think the only reason I’m considering leaving is the community. And by that I mean how bad players are at the game (-Yoink- storm coming my way lol).
I’m asking this just to get an overall idea of where the community is with the game. If the majority like or hate Halo 4. And if 343i will listen to ideas.
Thanks
As far as the 360’s halos are concerned I order them
Halo3>Halo4>HaloReach.
I personally like halo 4 more than reach, so that has been keeping me around. Unfortunatly, Halo 4 was built off of Reach, Bungie’s least popular Halo multiplayer. I played Reach for a little while before returning to Halo3.
343 may have done it wrong this time, but I have no doubt in my mind that they’ll get it right for the next halo. Still… its a little sad to know that many halo fans have given up on Halo entirely…
Seeing as I bounce between Halo and Borderlands 2, and can only consistently enjoy BL2 without friends present, would you mind, OP, if I took a crack at both sides of this question?
For now, seeing as I still do play Halo, I’ll offer some reasons to stay.
While Halo 4 is plagued with some random elements, as well as sandbox elements that 343i does not appear to be technically able to properly balance, the gameplay itself still contains the core Halo essence. That essence may be marred by things like certain Armor Abilities, all Personal Ordnance, gametype-specific balance issues, and a dearth of Custom Game options, but it is most certainly still there, and it shines through the flaws. Additionally, I can see 343i making a concerted effort to improve this game, and though that effort hasn’t caused the game’s population to skyrocket, it has improved this game.
Accordingly, my current favourite playlists are the ones that neutralize the more problematic gameplay elements through one means or another. SWAT is a specialty gametype that strips out nearly every single problematic element in this game. Big Team Skirmish, with its scale and focus on objective-oriented play, does a nice job of rendering cheaper tactics (like Boltshot corner-camping and Jetpack combat) rare and considerably less effective.
The sandbox is still heavily flawed but overall better. The weapons are more balanced with each other.
The movement is much faster than Halo 3.
Past games have a low population and issues of their own. Not really worth going back to Halo if it’s always the same maps and takes 10 minutes to find a match.
I play halo 4 no matter what, They defiantly improved the game sense launch and now it’s more enjoyable. I hope 343 keeps up with the good work and makes halo 5 great which is keeping me on halo.
The only reason I would leave is because of the community, It pretty terrible right now compared to the previous halo’s. But I’m not letting myself be driven away because of the haters and cod noobs who invest it.
Halo is my game no matter what
