In a future update i think that the Plasma Rifle from Halo CE should be added as a new gun for warzone and it should have these traits
Req level 5 or 6
increases shield strength by to the most 10%
increase damage by at least or around 20% or any amount so it could stand its ground against other weapons
Shorter Cool-down timer
when an enemy gets shot their speed gets reduced by a certain amount (like 10 to 25%) and when someone is sprinting the shot cancels sprinting
to counter this an option to make the gun balanced you could make it so that the longer the gun is fired the more inaccurate the gun gets
another option is to make the Plasma Rifle Into the Plasma Repeater from Halo Reach
The plasma repeater is my fave covie weapon.

I would love to see such classic weapons being added. Especially the Mauler. It was such an overlooked weapon in Halo 3, and I feel it would be a much stronger power house then the shotgun due to Halo 5’s fast paced Spartan Abilities and the fast fire rate mini shotgun. The Plasma Rifle would be a great return as well.

This was such a junk gun. I must say you’re the first person I’ve ever heard of even remotely liking it.
It’s decent, in singleplayer atleast, but there are a lot of things that need to make it back into Halo 5, like the Hornet.
We need a gun that stops Sprinting, period. For once the Plasma Rifle has a place in a modern Halo game’s sandbox, and as the hard counter to Spartan Charge
