Reasons for Halo 4 low population

Im tired of seeing the population of Halo 4 below 10 000 Daily. What has cause most of the Fans to leave Halo ? I dont understand :frowning: I need to know why

Full documentation and discussion of Halo 4’s population can be found in the Daily Halo 4 Population Thread.

Too much randomness and chaos in it. Factor in all the perks, armor abilities, huge weapon sandbox, people starting with plasma 'nades, etc.

So many things.

I’d say overall lack of rank / low level cap.

While many things hurt this games population… people leave when they cap early and lose purpose.

Ummmm… below 10,000 daily population?. Doesn’t look like it to me.

In 1 word? Infinity.

That’s the single biggest reason why the majority of players at launch later abandoned the game and either went back to Reach or H3 or quit Halo entirely. It’s the first time nearly the entire Halo community collectively hated something about Halo so badly they refused to play it.

1 - No 1-50 Ranks
2 - Armor abilities and Sprint
3 - Lack of small maps

343i knew what Halo fans wanted but they decided to take Halo in a different direction and changed up Halo’s formula. Fans didn’t like 343’s version of Halo, so most of them switched over to other games.

I will say that the past few evenings for me were well over 12,000, maybe over 15,000.

I think it’s because of the low level cap and no DLC playlist. Honestly I just got bored of the game in general.

If I had to put one reason for the drop in population it’s that the competition has caught up. Back in the Halo MM hey days during H2 and H3 the population remained fairly stable with more than 50, 000 concurrent players well into the games’ 2nd and 3rd years. During this time there weren’t that many alternative options for online gamers looking for a competitive environment in a console shooter. Now since Reach and beyond we’ve seen the explosion of other popular shooter series like COD, BF, GOW, and Borderlands. Halo MM still provides a quality experience but there’s many more options available today.

One reason, and one reason only.

No in game ranks. No in game ranks. And no in game ranks.

I honestly just got really bored with it after about a week.

Blackscreens, teammates wanting to pad their k/d as oppose to win, Camo Snipers on every big team map, dumb “competitive” ranking system, dumb level system, dumb playlists, the people who back out if they don’t have host, the way you can’t win unless you have host.
I’ll add more later, most likely.

Yes a whopping 38 over 10k.

Don’t forget this game had more than 400k people playing on release at once. It’s obvious why the game’s population plummeted so far in just a year, it’s because the game way seriously overhyped and wasn’t nearly as good as people thought it would be.

May we mosey on over here meow?
