Reason for not allowing multiplayer Spartans into co-op play is weak. Please reconsider, 343

Reach was insanely polarized.

Halo 2, over half the game. Reach, he was an easter egg, Nobody seemed to like Spartan Ops, nobody cares about Spartan Assault, Halo 5 was hugely panned.

I don’t remember the campaign being polarized. Certainly the multiplayer, but I don’t recall there being much of an outcry over not playing as MC. I wasn’t as plugged into the community at that time though.

Reach’s campaign had the best ending the whole thing was gold.

Multiplayer- armour lock - no BR … no 1-50 - oh it was the end of an era.

And people thought the ratio ultimately was sufficient.

And never advertised to be in the game at all, we were told we’d be following Noble Team.
Controversy regarding the story revolved around canon conflictions. Not lack of playable MC.

Because it was a repetitive heap of recycled maps and close to all missions were literally unfailable. You could have legendary and there was literally no penalty to dying. One or two had defend objectives if I recall correctly.
Five missions straight on Ragnarok? Entertaining…

Like Diablo Immortal, it was a game for handheld devices, console launch came a little too late for it. And just like the Halo Wars games, the general Halo audience isn’t that flexible on genre swaps and both spinoffs, Spartan Assault and Halo Wars were mediocre at what they did, at best, compared to other installments for respective genre.

Marketing was downright misleading, Chief was advertised as playable and darkness was brooding. We barely got to play Chief and the story mishandled.
That I already pointed out.

None of what you brought forward, apart from Halo 5, saw basically any criticism because it didn’t feature more Chief.
And even Halo 5 have the angle of “not enough Chief”, rather than “Too much Locke”, but that exist as well in some circuits.

That’s a huge problem because one person has to be Master Chief.

The best thing is just have co-op campaign be played without care for storyline. Still wondering why they didn’t just plan to make an MP Campaign. Probably cos they either don’t care or have no resources to do so.

The reason for not allowing mp elites is even dumber

I mistakenly thought Lonewolves was going put a solo op against the banished, but instead it’s “missions” by playing multiplayer. It’s such a cop out.

That may very well be why you don’t recall. At the time, it was called the worst Halo game ever made.

No they didn’t.

I’ve been here since 2005. I think, perhaps, as a fan for 17 years… I’m aware.

I meant narratively. Yes, gameplay wise it was and always will be a horrid dumpster fire.

For SOME people, “Any” Locke is too much Locke, but I don’t like gracing those types with such decency.

You seem to come from the angle you know more than me, yet presented nothing I didn’t already know.

Honest question, why did you think that?

I thought after season 1 we would get missions like in Spartan Ops dropped in every season. Since season 2 didn’t have coop and it was titled lonewolves, the assumption is that we get a solo mission. I’ve only been holding on to infinite in hopes of a more cohesive game involving the Spartan 4s not just multiplayer.

Arby was literally the “perhaps I’ve treated you too harshly” meme.

I remember H2 divided the fanbase right down the middle, and started the Dino hate. This Dino hate continued through to H3 and Reach.

I for one loved playing Arby. I found his suit ability to be Camo to be super amazing. Arby’s missions had so many ways to tackle it thanks to that.

I’m some people

I can’t stand locke i would rather play as buck or good ol arby

I hated playing as the Arbiter at first. I liked him as a character, but it was very jarring for me at the time. After Halo 3 my opinion on playing him changed and wish they would make him a main character going forward.

I’m the opposite i loved playing as the arbiter and wish i could play with him more no joke when i played halo 3 split screen co op with my younger cousin i let him be player 1 so i could play as arby i loved playing as a elite and outside of halo reach my preferred species was the elite

Remember when the second player was the Arbiter in co-op? That was cool.

No no, you misunderstand. For Some People I hope you’re not THAT kind of person about Locke.

Ohhhh if you’re saying what i think you’re saying than i’m not some people

I just found him unbelievably bland and boring nothing to do with the color of his skin

Poor Locke.

OC Created by Brian Reed . . . and was better handled by Paul T. Scheuring and Ridley Scott (the Writer and the Producer of Halo Nightfall.)

Ah brian reed iirc the one dude behind halo 5’s awful story who was throwing a fit over how fans didn’t like the story on Twitter before deactivating his twitter

I wonder what he’s been up to lately

Definitely not adding to the problem of Halo Infinite, that’s for sure.
