I suggest 343 will implement <mark>BOTH</mark> rank systems in HALO 4. Best of BOth worlds means something for everyone. Credits or point system for unlocks,… beautiful. 1-50 Global true skill rank for Bragging Rights and true fun,… phenomenal! Halo is a Old Game with Old ideas.
All we can do is submit our Ideas and Hope 343 listens. We the customers(Fans) have more power over any game industry PERIOD! especially that 343 is thinking about a trilogy that will span over 10 more years. They want our $60 dollars O.K… We want a product that will not only please us. We want a product that we are asking for! GLOBAL Ranking system is a must! Or there will be a significant decrease in fans. 343 probably has a twitter or a facebook. S to the PAM THEM WITH public feed back and request.
Halo is going to sell regardless. Now… What will make HALO number 1 again is, making sure there is a global true skill rank system. Especially for the more competitive players like myself. If anyone cares what I think, ask me. I will create new threads all day with new ideas and requests. by the way I sold my halo Reach game years ago.

No one knows why frankie does this. He gets everyone in a tizzy about something he feels is right and won’t listen, no matter how hard you try to tell him. Sometimes he’s right, but people don’t remember those times. They only remember when he is wrong due to human nature, so he couldn’t possibly care about anything, let alone the millions of fans that got him there.
You would be prone to a certain amount of grandstanding too. You make a game that pretty much brings matchmaking to the general public and see how much of a halo you see in the mirror when you wake up to shave your head in the morning, afternoon or whatever. And then to top it off the game you make you are not adept at, go into matchmaking and you lose to people trying to relive the ranks because they want a new mu and sigma, after that see how much you want to propagate off of BPR, trust me you would too.
The truth is they will never give us our BR back no matter how much they tell you in a making of trailer that it is back they will still tune it to be a 6,7 or 8 shot kill at most ranges. Even though the rest of the world loves the games that are one shot kills because the pacing is so fast, it’s not fair and that is the type of game they make so how do we stick to the same formula while tuning things better at the same time. It’s not as easy as spilling plates on top of a stick, it’s worse.
Even though all you have to do is give all the features of the previous game and make them better like theater halo 3 vs reach. Halo 3 wasn’t broken, but what do I know. And what do I really know, office politics at microsoft? “Ha ha you can’t outsell call of duty why are we funding you.” Imagine hearing that from someone pretty who pretty much has the rights to tear up your contract.
So people will drop the BR in place of a weapon with bloom aka the dmr. The DMR’s bloom will be decreased to the point of non existent. People will grow disinterested well before then and go onto other games while the true believers will wait for the humility that will never come. Microsoft will drop halo in place of COD like they have wanted to for so long.
-People that want the pistol from halo CE back will never get it in matchmaking.
-The BR will never return. They will mess up the sniper so bad it will clip online and they will blame it on connection/host.
-We will never get a ranking system like halo 3.
-The theater will only allow for one player to watch games instead of with a party.
But that’s the cost of progress. Game design is a pain. Oh and spectator mode? Probably not

I gotta say: If I was making a game and omitted something that a vocal group wanted because it caused a lot of problems for everyone, the last thing that is going to change my mind is having that vocal group spam everything from my twitter accounts to the forums for the game I was making.

Agreed. It’s well known within the video game development community that spamming a developer is called toe sucking.

So you mean when they disliked the BR and removed and made a historical excuse with time lines about how DMR’s were before Battle rifles and blah blah you bought into that? C’mon we all know this is a personal request from a developer to remove 1-50.

It’s their game, we only play it. I was indifferent as first then wanted it back, but I have accepted it and I have moved on. Be happy we get three moar haloz to play.
MLG pro Ninja made me want a 1-50 system again, watch this video. Although I do believe a progressive system along side it could work if 343 do it correctly.
Thing is… Halo Reach uses almost the same True Skill system that Halo 3 used. Just because you cant see your rank does not mean that you are not being ranked. Subjective claims that Reach’s ranking system is broken are just that, subjective. People simply lack the numeric rank context of their opponents to quantify various game outcome, so games seem random.
