Been playing since launch still kinda a crappy player, I try so hard to learn and help my team by not getting my butt handed to me; however I still go negative or can’t quite get that first place in FFA. A lot of people tell me to watch games in theater, but idk what I looking for all I see is someone had better aim then me. Also is it possible to be a good player when you solo queue? I’ve tried joining Spartan companies but I’m a EMT and work a lot of hours, and I get turned down from joining because I’m not active enough. How can I improve as a solo player? Any advice would be great thanks.
Practice pratice pratice and don’t get stressed over not being Top dawg on the leaderboard!
Been playing for ages and i have since my youth, being these 23 years old and all, lost my reaction time greatly. I feel like the Galactic Empire is where i learned to shoot these days…
Anyways first of is your setup! You’re gonna want to make sure that YOUR play style, has the correct settings. Fiddle around with it, sensitivity, aim acceleration and all that. Pace your shots and try not to hug the trigger too much. Know when to retreat and when a certain encounter may lead to your demise. Nothing sweeter then killing an opponent but risking your own life aint worth the kill if there’s a higher chance of you being dead.
Map awareness: It’s important to know the good zones on a map while also having an idea of where the enemy players are. What i often do is scout around, if i see a guy running in a place where i know i wont be able to kill him, i wont engage. I will however wait for him to show up where it can be predicted. Say we’re on truth and he’s running up the left ramp on one side, he’d obviously end up at the right ramp or stay right in the middle where you have him locked but where could he possibly go without you knowing then? He’ll most likely continue onward and all you have to do, is be prepared at said destination for a little ‘‘Surprise Cheesecakes!’’ and he’ll be down.
A good player can only do so much but a match is always won by a team that knows what the heck they’re doing. In FFA, it’s a different story ofcourse but it’s a great place to get your techniques locked down.
Aim, power weapon usage, team shot, baiting grenades. - solo
team shot, call outs, timers, map control. - grouped
There is a lot more but this should be basic stuff.
-Use grenades to lower an opponents shields then finish them off with a headshot. Works really well if you can sneak up on someone. Speaking of which…
-Crouching while moving will prevent you from appearing on enemy radars. You can use this to your advantage.
-Plasma Pistols pair really well with magnums and precision rifles. Use a charge-up EMP shot to drain their shields, then shoot them in the head for a quick kill.
-If you’re having trouble aiming, you could buy some thumbstick extenders here. Trust me, I’ve bought a pair from that place after I got Halo 5 and it has made aiming much easier.
I have a lot of videos about tactics and mindset going into Arena/Slayer.
Too many people say “aim better” or “use this weapon more”, but it’s usually your decision making and intelligence that sets you apart.
