Really bugged me about the campaign

In just about every single Halo game… Even when you win, there are absolutely devastating loses. You absolutely feel like the underdog you are supposed to be.

But in HW2… after the first mission… You proceed to just absolutely dominate the Banished. The faction who the Covenant never came close to so much as getting a good look at. The faction who made an AI feel terrified. And the SoF just wipe the floor with them.

It just bothers how this new big bad enemy, is just useless. I’m not talking about actually game difficulty, or tactics used, but each victory is exactly that, a victory. It’s not bittersweet, or hard earned

agree, he has no screen time, 12 missions is way short. very dissapointed in campaign overall, completed it in legendary in less than 10 hours, so it was not even challenging. :frowning:

Spoilers, duh

I actually loved it. The banished aren’t all Isabella (a logistics AI, or box pusher overlord) made them out to be. We see two under powered forces, Atriox who spent years hit and running just trying to avoid being crushed (all that bluster about beating the covenant aside, they just ran away while grabbing loot) and the half staffed SoF trapped together…

Halo has always had it that the UNSC tend to be better on ground. We saw the SoF being hammered in space, and have to resort to ground ops to beat the Enduring. For once we see a Halo game where we have A FAIR FIGHT. And Cutter, who fought years in direct combat, not annoying raiding attacks? Had the tactical advantage of his own experience, Ander’s brainyness and Isabella’s processing power.

Isabella herself overestimates the Banished. Remember she’s a new AI. Seeing her first assignment burnt the ground, along with the cutscene where we see her having flashbacks, would heavily imply she is PSTDed to hell and back.

Of course, the game does end bittersweet. Cutter finds his new home, sends a memo back and guess what?

“Hi Cortana, spank me over here please.”
