Really bad performance on high end laptop

Hello. I’d like to give some feedback on the current performance on my laptop and see if anyone else has similar problems.

So, I have a ASUS ROG Stryx Scar 17 laptop, with a RTX 3080 mobile (16 GB), 32 GB of 3200 MHz RAM, a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD and a Ryzen 7 5800H CPU. Decent hardware, wouldn’t you say?

Yet when I run Halo Infinite on Steam even the Medium settings get me between 14 and 32 fps @ 1080p. Considering I run games like Metro Exodus on Ultra with full Ray tracing at 90 - 120 fps, it seems very odd that Halo Infinite runs so poorly on the same hardware.

So I’d like to ask if I’m doing something wrong or is there still a patch from Nvidia or 343 to come that I’m not aware of? It might have something to do with “unoptimized” performance for games without Optimus, but I’m connected to an outside monitor via display port that goes straight from the Nvidia GPU, so it shouldn’t be that.

Anyway, pls feel free to jump in and share your thoughts on the matter.

P.S. The last flight had this same, horrendous, performance.

Hey, I’m having the same issue. Using a Ryzen 9 and rtx 3060. I believe it is not utilizing the gpu with the ryzen 9 (might be using the igpu) and leaves my gpu usage at 8% I really want this to be fixed.
