Really? At least balance the challenges......

We are the champions…win 20 matches in slayer. 1350. Even a 3rd grader can tell you with this monthly challenge, it is sorely uneven. You are telling us that if we achieve this. Getting just under 1/3 of the monthly in one day. We get less than 1/10 the reward? Seriously, who is in charge of this stuff. It is not exactly rocket science.

Surely I am not the only one to notice this. Any other comments on the subject?

You’re talking about the same company that started creating 1cR challenges toward the end of Reach. Consider 1350cR a bounty… :wink:

Campaign Weekly payouts are pathetic.

So basically:
Win 20 matches to gain half the xp of a single match.

Come on 343I, this is obviously wrong.

> Campaign Weekly payouts are pathetic.

Yeah they really need to be worth more cause the time it takes to beat some levels you could play a few matches online and get way more XP so it’s really not even worth it to go for those Campaign challenges.

What I found strange was;

My profile challenges section says:

Spartan Takedown
‘Kill 20 players’ - 1350 exp.

While the in-game challenge was:

‘Win 20 Slayer Games’ - 1350 exp.

No one else noticed this?

I don’t think challenges should be under 1000 XP. You get at least 2000 XP just for playing a single War Games match. An actual challenge should be much more worth it.

I’m more concerned with why they’re picking such banal challenges when they could be selecting challenges that encourage wider utilisation of the sandbox and are thus a whole lot more fun to earn. Why are there no challenges involving the plasma pistol or wheelman medals? Why can’t we be tasked with earning a kill at, say, 200 metres? What about gaining a certain amount of air in the Warthog or sticking players with plasma grenades?

There are so many potentially interesting challenges but, day after day, they continue to demand that we either:

a) win a certain number of games; or
b) kill a certain number of players

It’s getting old.

Addendum: It should also be obvious that the so-called “hardcore” players are going to grind out their XP even without the challenges, whereas the more “casual” or “social” players could (if 343 were clever) use the challenges as their primary means of advancement.

agreed, in reach they upped the weeklys to around 15k reward,
in halo 4 a monthly is that much, and a simple challenge to get 9 kills, is somehow worth more than 20 slayer wins, how is it even worth it?, i try to just ignore some challenges and just play matches anyway, silly payouts for what your doing

I agree, and it would be nice to get more XP. That said, I already just kind of use the Campaign challenges as an excuse to relive the story.

I was wondering if it was just me noticing how ridiculous these challenges were, especially today’s win 20 slayer matches for a worthless amount of XP.

However I am beginning to believe there is nobody in charge of the challenges, they seem to be randomly generated by the Halo 4 MP server which would greatly explain the unoriginal and unrewarding nature of the challenges. I would really like to see they whole system completely changed. Why can’t we have Daily, Weekly, Monthly challenges in Campaign, Spartan Ops, and Infinity?

While I agree the challenges (daily) are skewed a tad high in numbers required for wins for the amount of credits you get I really don’t let it bother me. You only get 1350 credits or whatever the win X amount of games in Y playlist credit total is so it’s not worth worrying about in my book. It’s so easy to level up in this game I don’t pay attention to challenges much.

Just quoting my own post;

The Challenge Section on the Waypoint profile says the challenge is to Kill 20 PLAYERS.

The challenge In-game was Win 20 MATCHES.

I assume a bug occured in the game challenge, making it matches instead of kills.
