Was it so hard to fix the audio bug at the end of the game? Did anyone else notice that the one piece of music continues to play, even though it should have ended long ago. It completely ruins the ending, with the music tracks clashing as much as they do.
I noticed it in the emulated 360 version, and I hoped they would fix it. Disappointing.
Then again, I imagine I’m one of 5 people who actual noticed the problem.
As stated a ton of times, they tried very hard to make absolutely no changes. Sure there is new stuff, but you can play in classic mode and it’s pretty much all original. The game itself is virtually untouched.

He can also just go to audio and choose original soundtrack.
> that’s true, they did say they weren’t going to fix things. Still, you would think a bug like that would be fixed.

Well if they did someone would be mad that they fixed it. So any way someone wouldn’t like it.
I guarantee you not a single person would be upset if they fixed that audio glitch. I realize it’s a relatively small problem. But, that coupled with the graphics pop-in, no sound settings and a list of other minor problems, starts to add up.

Trust me someone somewhere would be upset. I mean you got upset about it not being fixed maybe somebody is happy it’s not fixed. Also if they fixed it wouldn’t have stayed true. Which I don’t about it all that much staying exactly true doesn’t matter to me.
That audio glitch does not happen if you play your original halo 1 disk from 2001. Only when you play the xbox live arcade version. THEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED IT!!! That audio glitch ruins the feel of the game and it doesn’t just happen at the end. It happens at a lot of the track changes and also sometimes the track that should be starting just cuts out and it doesn’t play anything.
1 more thing. With the graphics overlay, it makes it hard to line up head shots. The updated charter overlays don’t exactly match the original hit boxes but that problem is easy to adapt to.
maybe it will be on the original soundtrack to haunt you nitty nit pickers in your sleep. good thing it happens at the end so only the whole game was ruined for you…
It doesn’t just happen at the end. I have my old halo 1 disk and I still play it. It messes up the song transitions in a bunch of places. It happens with my friends downloaded version of the game from when they put it on xbox live. Just cause it happens there doesn’t mean that they’ll be changing the game if they fixed this bug that wasn’t in the original game.

Here’s the thing: Everytime you fix a bug, you risk new ones arising. Programming is a very tricky thing
Wow it’s amazing really how nit picky people are towards this game. One little thing doesn’t go the way you like and immediately you -Yoink-. Good to see the bungie forum goers are started to migrate here.

Someone just flat-out said that this glitch was not in the original Halo: Combat Evolved version on the Xbox. If they’re right – I can’t personally confirm it, but if they’re right, then that means that this bug was most likely introduced when Gearbox ported Halo 1 to the PC for Bungie, which, if indeed true, would mean that not fixing this bug means not being faithful to the original.
Now, will this interfere with enjoyment of most of the campaign? Probably not. The OP never said it did. But 343’s own goals, as demonstrated by the reuse of a ten-year-old game and physics engine, were to create a remake that is perfectly true to the original. So if the OP feels strongly about a failure to achieve the game’s goal of remaining perfectly true to the original – that’s a legitimate complaint, even if a very small one. “Nitpicking” doesn’t apply here, given the goal of creating and releasing this remake.
Of course, if the person above commenting about the 2001 disc is wrong – if this really is how it was on the original Halo: Combat Evolved, as opposed to only having been introduced in one of the various post-release ports – then so am I. So take this with a grain of salt, I guess?
EDIT: HAHAHA, DISREGARD THAT except for the last paragraph, as per the below.

Actually, the bug is in the original version. It occurs when you don’t trigger that music as you head to the bridge, which for some reason makes it trigger at the end of the game instead.
I’m not sure exactly what causes the failure to trigger at the proper time, but it seems to not happen much if I take my time in the early portions of the level.

How are you backing this guarantee? I guarantee you that with the number of people who have bought or will buy CEA, any change of any kind will have its detractors. That’s just the nature of human beings.
They said they wouldn’t fix bugs, they didn’t fix this bug, and you’re complaining. sigh
They weekend b4 hcea came out I was at my friends house playing my original copy of the game from start to finish. That glitch is not on the original disk. It is however in the xbox live arcade version of it. I know this because my friend has the downloaded version.
