Reality of halo . .

Halo 4 at the moment is basically on life support. That life support is the CSR that is supposed to be released in April. But halo has been steadily losing numbers since reach. This revolution period its going through is the cause of that. But that’s another story for another day. Now even when they add the ranking system, there’s going to increased population for sure but the game will still be broken. We will just play people the same skill as we are which is how it should’ve been since the release of the game.

Now I honestly don’t care if its visible or not, I just want to play other good people like me. But for those who I see constantly saying its impossible for them to make it visible, you are completely wrong. If you remember back when halo 3 had its title update and they introduced exp per playlist? Yea, that’s basically how adding your in-game rank is. That’s how I know for a fact its possible because it was done in the past. Plus why wouldn’t 343 just say they couldn’t do it? That’s way better then that lame cheating excuse that they throw around. THEY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO STOP CHEATING. ITS APART OF OUR DAILY LIVES AND WILL HAPPEN IN EVERY VIDEO GAME IT IS POSSBLE. Even if the ranking system is on waypoint, someone can just check their rank and continue to host boot. And if its anything similar to halo 3 ranks, which they’ve said it is, then boosters can still be made and used!!!So what are they honestly doing?

The reason H2/H3 did so well back in the is not because it didn’t have any competition, it was because it had an addictive factor that the past 2 halos seem to lack. For those that say it had no comp back then when look at it now. All these other popular games out and H4 sold quite a few copies. You know why it got those numbers in sell? Because people thought they were going to get that same feeling they did in H2/H3. That’s why the population decreased tremendously after a couple weeks because 343 did not deliver what was expected.

I look at the blogs and videos that 343 post. And they say " well halo is doing really well cause it sold a lot of copies". And I think to myself well where’s the post about how the community is happy. Oh wait , I forgot 343 saw an opportunity to cash in and they took it. You people are crazy to think they value our opinion. If they did, why didn’t they just listen to us from the beginning?

Ranks aren’t going to save Halo.
Good gameplay is going to save Halo.

People loved the Majestic map pack. It’s a sign.

> Now I honestly don’t care if its visible or not, I just want to play other good people like me.

The game already has invisible TruSkill. Or at least they claim it does.

Anyways, ranks would be cool, but they aren’t the sole thing that is gonna save the game. Having a 50 in Halo 4 Slayer is like having a 50 in Fiesta anyways.

Sadly a couple good maps wont fix all the mechanic issues… I come from the Buffalo, NY area where all the sports teams (except Lacrosse) are horrible lately and we always say “there is always next year” well… there is always Halo 5

The only way you get good gameplay is if the teams are evenly matched. That’s what the ranking system is for. Also the current system that’s in place doesn’t have much to influence it. That’s why you can search with a party 4 of mlg pros and find 2 joe blows and his guests.

> The only way you get good gameplay is if the teams are evenly matched. That’s what the ranking system is for.

That’s what TruSkill is for. Ranks themselves are for showing off.

> Also the current system that’s in place doesn’t have much to influence it. That’s why you can search with a party 4 of mlg pros and find 2 joe blows and his guests.

Fair enough, there isn’t much incentive to actually improve so you don’t always get paired up against good players.

But evenly matched teams don’t matter if the game has maps buried with random power weapons. Gameplay should come before ranks, as I said before getting a 50 in this game is like getting a 50 in fiesta, it’s meaningless.

why does everyone think ranks are a better version of truskill?

also, that will do nothing for the game if the other stuff isnt fixed.

Ranks tell you if you’re being matched up against similarly skilled players or not.

Without visible ranks, 343 can claim whatever they want, but you could be getting matched up against people far above/below your skill and you’d never know.

I got addicted to Reach but not all that addicted to Halo 3.

Lmao really now? How long have you been playing halo? Bungies designed reason for the 1-50 is for you to match other players accordingly. Trueskill and 1-50 are the same bro. Its the community that has blinded the real reason for that. Gameplay will NEVER be good without evenly matched players in the game. H2/H3 would have never succeeded like they did if they used the same system as reach or h4

> I got addicted to Reach but not all that addicted to Halo 3.

Some people really enjoyed reach, you happen to be one of them bro.

hahaha life support? No, Halo 4 is healthy as it is. The cancer and what is killing it’s health are people like the OP who won’t accept halo 4 as a good game. There are many players right now enjoying Halo 4 day and night. Reason why 343 doesn’t listen to feedback like DMR nerf or weapon balance is that all these Halo haters are cry babies. Damn if you don’t like the game, why do you still even play it seriously.

while i agree games are more fun when you play others of the same skill, can anyone logically tell me why csr on waypoint is not good enough?

Wat?

Ranks are what is displayed. TruSkill is what actually matches you behind the scenes. 1-50 is still in the game, it’s just not visible.

What people want is visible ranks. Ranking already exists behind the scenes, or at least 343I claims it does.

Unplug your keyboard.
Stare at your screen.
Read what you just wrote.
Contemplate on how it makes any logical sense.

I did enjoy Halo 3, but the community was always trying to take that away, usually because of those damn numbers next to my name. Apparently now I wasn’t allowed to enjoy the game because my number wasn’t as high as their numbers. Even when I did try to get “addicted to ranking up”, it usually caused me to get angry at the game for every wrong thing that happened in the game, and frankly I felt like I was only doing it to please other people and not myself.

boy aint this the truth. and god forbid you make a thread on the forum. if your number isnt high enough then you have no right to play the game or even talk about the game…

glad its on waypoint for the overly aggressive folks. they can deal with it since its so important to them.

> while i agree games are more fun when you play others of the same skill, can anyone logically tell me why csr on waypoint is not good enough?

It’s kind of pointless to have if no one else sees it.

It’s like setting a goal for yourself, achieving it, and then telling no one about it. Kind of sucks.

Honestly though, I’m starting to not care about stats, and I don’t think other people should either. I would rather go 0.7 in throwdown and have fun than spend all day farming a 3.0 in Infinity BTB.

Where did I ever state I didn’t like the game? Where did I even say anything about the DMR? And yes those people who play day and night are the kids if halo. Not literally meaning kids but all they want to do is play and have fun.

Yea some people are not as friendly as others but who cares. Its xbox live. If you let people you’ve never seen or been In contact with opinions bother you, then life is going to be tough for you

if you cant handle csr being on the website, life is going to be tough for you.

just kidding lol seriously though its a good compromise i think.
