Well, I had thinking about a time in how we could upgrade the Halo Infinite Graphics to bring more immersion and realism to the game. There are some good ideas to make the campaign and multiplayer more beautiful and alive. There are some good ideas:
- Bring climatic dynamic change : Change storm to blue sky, or cloudy to start rain, or vice-versa.
I’d like to see sandstorms, storms, windy places, higher temperature places, Heavy sunlight
- I never see a real starfall or meteor shower (Yes, I would like it, but not necessary needs to interfere on gameplay or do damage, maybe could just be only graphics on the scenario) in any other game. They could bring fallen meteorites objects on the scenario (and destructable).
*I’d like to see rain drops running trought the helmet and body, or sandstorms wandering throught the weapon and helmet, bringing effects of dust all over the body and the weapon , blurry vision in the most frozen areas, dirty boots on the ground lands, wetlands; etc.
- If the vision of the player will be compromised, the player can choose to disable this effects on options.
- The climate change could bring both for multilplayer and campaign.
- I don’t think the system should interfere in the gameplay, like the windy interfere the bullet on BF4.
- Build a lived sky, were planets could move or star falls.
-Real damage on the armor and helmet. In the armor, could bring some scratched damage or something like to ashes effects to bring more realism. On the helmet, will start to crack up permanently or temporary to bring more immersion.
- I think it’s necessary to give the option to able or disable the effects, because this could affect the gameplay.
- When players got death, the lasts bullets could bring more realism reaction when get the impact in the body
- Maybe could blow up somehow. for example, when damage on the chest, the bullet pierce effect could blow a part in the local of the armor. Maybe human body. exposed, but doesn’t need to be necessary violent. Only little effects of explosion when impact and with some short of particle effects.
- They could broke the visor helmet after a headshot. It’s just a suggestion, but i don’t think will fit well
- Shockwave explosions will interfere the environment. When throw a grenade, the shockwave will impact the grass and the vegetation, or objects could fly away from the local. (Partial, not total).
- They could bring to the helmet spark and soot effect after impacte of a grenade or a explosion of the vehicle.
- Partial destruction of scenario
- The terrain and the grass could be more alive. The grass could burn into ashes after a explosion. And could damage and create a crater.
- Realistc effets of Soot, Smoke and Fog.
-Burning pipe when long throwing with an automatic, with cooling effect.
-Lived vegetation. Where can pierce leafs with bullets or destroy the trees. They could be burned too.
- In rainy weather, small puddles of water can form and influence the rivers and seas.
-In rainy weather, small puddles of water can form and influence rivers and seas. Even creating lakes.
- Realistc water
- Raytracing (I think will we see later on the future),
" But it’s too next gen!"
Yeah! But I don’t even mind. I would prefer a perfect game where I spending playing than others.
I kind of agree, I would love to see a realistic looking game, something that would actually impress people, but, I mean, 343i really hasn’t done anything impressive on any Halo they worked on, so I keep my expectations low. There are rumors about a dedicated physics compute unit in the next Xbox (Anaconda) and at the end of 2020 realtime raytracing will be 2 years old on PC, so there should definitively be the possibility and expectations that, at least on Xbox Anaconda, not on Xbox One, Halo Infinite should have raytracing and very realistic physics, but again 343i isn’t known for meeting expectations (it still hurts me when I think about all the lies in Halo 5 marketing), nevermind exceeding expectations.
I actually dream Halo Infinite now and then and it has the best raytracing, gorgeous explosions and the most hilarious splatters in BTB thanks to realistic physics. BTW realistic phyisics and raytracing are the only two things that, if combined, would actually impress people at E3.

That might be your opinion, don’t speak for everyone. If I see decent gameplay, the return of blood and gore, the premise of a decent story and fair micro transactions I’ll be very impressed. The graphics and realistic physics are always welcome but I don’t buy games because they look good. If I did Anthem would have been a day one buy. I like the idea of dynamic weather and realistic physics, but those don’t guarantee a good game. As stated, it will take more than just that to impress me.
It all depends on the hardware and engine. If they’re planning on to make the game look as good as that engine trailer at 1080/60 on an XB1, I can’t see them being able to pull a lot of this stuff off.
There’s one effect I absolutely loved that I hadn’t seen realistically replicated anywhere else and it was done extremely well, and it happened in another Halo title.
At the end of Halo Reach during the end fights of the Lone Wolf mission, when you receive a certain amount of damage, your visor physically cracks I believe based on where damage was received or damage amount. It looks like a broken glass effect and it visually impaired you by having an extremely lifelike effect of double or distorted vision from that cracked portion of your visor.
I wish there were more elemental effects like that, or even running water drops during rain, etc. It’ll be neat to see what happens though.
If the graphics are just a bit better than Halo 5 that would be fine for me (obviously the original art style) but as for the cutscenes, 343i NEEDS to rehire the studio that did the Cutscenes for Halo 2: Anniversary because those just looked amazing.

You’re right, that might not be the only two things that would impress people, but as you put it, people should still be very impressed by Halo CE and Halo 2. There should not be any need of Halo Infinite if it was as you say. I’ll be more clear on my point, I would never put realism in front of gameplay, but in trailers you can’t play the game, you can’t judge how the game plays. You can judge how the game looks tho, and at E3 people are usually impressed by how realistic or how good the graphics look. Anthem is an excellent example of that, it isn’t an excellent game, but it impressed a lot of people at E3. There I say it, it was more impressive than Halo Infinite.
I would love weather effects in MP maps. If Warzone of something like it comes back, I would love transitions from stormy to clear and what not. Don’t make them happen always or that often though, it switching from stormy to clear several times a match would be weird.
Controllable weather effects and programmable NPC’s in Forge mode would be excellent!
I for one couldn’t care less about graphics. They’re nice and pretty, but they actually get in the way sometimes. I’ll give you a good example. In Halo CE’s level Silent Cartographer, there is a small stash of weapons where you first meet the hunters. In classic graphics, the bright white health pack makes this super obvious. In anniversary graphics, the grass hides it almost completely unless you’re right on top of it. There are multiple times where I kill an enemy, then have to switch to classic graphics to quickly see where their weapon went. Halo 5 (and 4 I think) highlighted dropped weapons, which just looks dumb. I’d rather have less fidelity in the scenery which makes foreground objects stand out more. Halo should never look photorealistic, it’s surreal nature is part of what gives it it’s charm.
The way I usually think about what to expect in a new game is like this: take whatever the previous game’s pre-recorded cutscenes looked like and expect that to be the gameplay. Game engine programmers have known how to make photorealistic engines for a very long time, and most of them even have these features like light scattering and raytracing built into them. They’re just disabled for the real-time gameplay where framerate matters.
