Realism

When Halo released it wasn’t meant to be realistic. It was meant to be a unique, alien, epic game. Not a realistic real world modern-looking equipment built in the 26th Century!

Halo: Reach was a little realistic but I guess no one minded that because the game was balanced, skill-based (though less due to Armor Abilities) and retains the original look and feel to the vehicles and weapons, just updated to keep up with other modern games.

After Halo: Reach’s awesomeness we got this Halo 4 monstrosity sht that was too realistic, too piece-of-sht sound effects, crappy art, brightness issues, overly smooth maps, unbalanced multiplayer gameplay, low TTK, and of course those dull blue menu boxes where we’re forced to read names sideways. Everything in Halo 4 is just so exaggerated, dull, repetitive and too boring to play for even a year straight! Even Halo 5 has this issue!!!

To name a few:
Cortana looked too human and not AI-like like she was in classic Halo.
Armor
Weapons
Vehicles!!! Especially the Warthog, Scorpion, Banshee (I can’t do a barrel roll without taking like 5 shots in a row!
Sound effects like melee, shields, assassinations etc etc.

And what’s worse, it affected the entire Halo population on all games. Usually before Halo 4 hundreds of thousands of players would be online at any time of the day.

Now I can only find at most, if lucky, only 5000 (rarely) players in Halo: Reach and Halo 4 and only 1000 (even rarer) in Halo 3! What happened to the rest of the Halo community? Even Team Doubles and Team Snipers aren’t as popular like they were during Halo 3!!

343’s games are only Halo in name, not nature. This is why I’d NEVER buy an Xbox One.

Good for you.

Here OP

Always refreshing to see how people find ways to “disjointed opinions” + “attitude” + “righteous indignation” = “wandering rant.”
Sorry you’re unhappy? I guess?

I agree with a lot of what you’re trying to say, but “realism” isn’t how I would put it.
