'Realism' diffculty

Anyone who knows the basics of the Human-Covenant War will know just how devastating the Covenant are in combat. It’s a shame that gameplay means that UNSC stuff is a lot stronger than it should be, hence why I propose a realism diffciulty, for an accurate portrayal of Combat.

Proposed suggestions;

Covenant plasma weapons do many times more damage, and take only a few glancing shots to kill a Spartan, and only one to kill a marine
UNSC weapons are more or less ineffective against shielding, and only slightly effective against the armour
Enemy soldiers are much smarter, Hunters will 1HK you if they’re lucky
Being hit by a single fuel rod will destroy a Warthog

And so forth. It would be an interesting gameplay mechanic, and although enemy weapons would be vastly damging to you, they wuld be equally as capable against the enemy.

It would be pretty interesting to see how the weapons would work in “reality”, would also give the books some context as-well as you get to see just how effective the weapons are.

Yeah. I always feel that the games never do justice to just how devastating the Covenant War Machine was in their conquest, I would love to see a Blur-style cinematic for the Battles of Sigma Octanus, Jericho VII and Reach at some point, just to see in video what it was like for a UNSC fleet to know they were defeated from the moment they started.

Damn, that difficulty would be impossible… Move over, Laso…

10/10 would watch.

Still going to do it (or at least try… for a few minutes).

Die once and game’s over…forever.

Jokes aside, I would rather like to see that with increasing difficulty the intelligence and/or also the numbers of enemies increases instead of just turning them into bullet-sponge fuel rod snipers (like it’s been handled with Legendary) what is more of an annoyance than it is a challenge.

I would however not be opposed to the idea that weapon damage stats are more in line with the canon, in general though. I am not talking about 1:1 but what has bothered me for example is that there is really hardly any difference (be it in power or effect or whatever) between a DMR, a Carbine and a not even a freaking Forerunner Lightrifle when using them against Covies and co.

Yeah, having elites with fuel rod cannons that wont die is probably a little drawback for gameplay purposes.

So…Legendary difficulty.

NOPE 343 keep easy, normal, heroic and legendary, overskilled players have laso for a reason! I play only legendary but laso is maybe too difficult for me… so if you would listen to this guy, I couldn’t finish the game on max difficulty as most of the players, and that is a goal that I love to score! Please don’t do that… PLEASE NO…

Yes but only in the campaign

So in other words… The game would be too hard for you so you would rather them not include it so you can pat yourself on the back when you complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting.

That kind of mentality is destroying halo. Quit catering to “casuals”. The larger the skill gap the better

OP a realism difficulty would be amazing
