I’ve notice that some weapons are a lot less common than others, even when their tier is the same. For example, I recieved the Arclight and Answer Certifications in the same pack a while back. While I have accumulated 10+ Arclights, I have not recieved a single additional Answer.
Also, it seems to vary from account to account. I have a Alt. account that I made to test some stuff with REQs (not to obliterate scrubs) and I recieve a very, very large amont of shotguns and whiplashes, but barely get any at all on my main.
Onr more thing: The REQs you recieve seem to vary over time. I used to never get any Bloods of Suban or Razor’s Edge, but now I have been recieving quite a lot of them, but getting fewer Banshee Ultras and SPNKR Launchers.
Can anyone explain this, or did 343i provide info on this topic in the past? If so, please leave a link or summary below!
To the best of my knowledge, 343 has never provided probabilities and drop rates for the REQ pack system.
Given the ever increasing attention on loot boxes and questionable industry practices these days, I’d like to see greater transparency.

Me too. And I do think some of the drop rates need adjusting (Phaetons, for instance)
I’ve noticed that too, I always thought it was fate lol. The game is telling me they want me to use certain weapons more than others…In my case the beam rifle and needler.
It’s not going to be the same for everyone. Trying to figure it out most likely isn’t going to get you anywhere.
I’m currently interested in the percentage for getting Warzone legendary XP boosts and A.I. kills from REQ points and buying them. Just saw a certain someone with over 2000 of them which seems very questionable.
It’s supposed to be random but I question just how random it is as well. Also with 343s track record it wouldn’t surprise me if the req system is bugged as for what it gives out. One problem I think is that the req system is so bloated with items getting what you actually want can be a headache. They really need to separate packs to say vehicles, weapons, and perhaps cosmetics. So each pack will grant you say two unlocks and then some random drops with it(the cosmetics would be a mix of both weapons and vehicles). That way it could increase your odds a bit of getting what you actually want.

That would make a lot more sense, but then micro transactions will happen less, which is what 343 does not want to happen

In that case, to appease the mighty Halo gods, I better REQ some SAWs (I have over 300).
I’m pretty sure that the req system is random, there’s a name for the random generator but i can’t remember it.

The truth is we have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes. We do know, however, they have the ability to change the rules whenever they want and have done so in the past (e.g. Mongoose drop rate in Bronze/Silver packs, etc).
If the folks at 343 are serious about improving communications with their customers, here’s another area they can address.
I am stacked on every req except phaeton Helios. I only have two of those whereas I have 50+ of everything else. But this is because I use the Helios a lot. If I get one I’ll use it very soon after I get it. I had 30 after my ff grind but have only gotten 10 in six months since then. I’m probably just really unlucky
Hey, have you ever heard of microtransactions. It’s not supposed to be consistent, it’s completely random what you get.
It is not completely random. See how many ONI Scorps you get compared to how many Legendary Mantises and you’ll notice a huge discrepancy. Fact of the matter is, the rarity system does not necessarily have any bearing on actual drop rates of a particular REQ.

Interesting. Based on my results, the REQs I receive are very consistent (lots of SAWs and Banshees and no Answers or Shotguns). 343i better fix this then if it’s actually supposed to be random (which I doubt).
And yes, I have heard of microtransactions. Umm… was there a point to that question?

Helios Phaetons are the rarest REQ in the game. They have an extremely low drop rate. You are about average as luck goes.

RNG… Random number generator.

No, just to establish that reqs are just microtransactions.

Oni tanks are rarer
Considering every other aspect of halo 5 has had bugs I wouldn’t be surprised if the req system had some , I know there’s a lot of items but I never seem to get either Helios or Hannibal wasps even when I saved 500000 points then spent them all at once ( gaining 6000 points back instantly) I got none of these. Ok it’s meant to be random but cmon this feels rigged . That’s the problem with a gambling micro transaction system , house always wins .
