Real reason you can't use your MP spartan in co-op

No, just no, this is not only untrue but kind of a dumb take, all assets are shared in the game between campaign and MP.

Not only that but the model’s rig work with the animation almost perfectly across all cores. This is just 343 making bad decisions once again.

Seen a few comments saying about how hard it might be for 343 to add new armour pieces to single player as being the reason.

It could well be that but 3 points I’d like to make on that.

  1. Modders could do it. If modders without access to any of the dev tools can do it then it’s a pretty poor reflection on 343 if they can’t do it themselves with all the tools and resources at their disposal.

  2. If that is the case then surely it’s bad planning on 343’s part? Hadn’t they said about their long term support for the game? Hasn’t 10 years been mentioned before? I’m all their time planning did they never ask the question of how they could keep the game updated with new content in a game they said they would support with new content?

  3. That isn’t the reason 343 gave which means if it’s true it’s another example of 343 not being honest with players.

To everyone replying to this thread saying:

But modders could add MP armour

Yep… and what? That’s literally my point, is they had to mod the game to add MP armour into the campaign. I really don’t know what you’re all trying to prove with that line.

That’s literally what I am saying. You’re arguing with me but agreeing.

This community is exhausting.

It shows that people who aren’t on the dev team and do not have access to or experience with the tools used to make the game have the ability to have MP armour in SP.

If they can do it then it should not be beyond the ability of the developers, who actually do have direct access to all of the game assets, the engine and the dev tools as well as the experience of using them.

Nobody said about 10 years of Inf support.
They said Inf is a start of next 10 years for Halo.
People just see what they wanted to see.

I find it funny how you think thats what people wanted to hear when it comes to a live service game news flash when developers say that most of us take that as a red flag

Literally every game that boasted that usually flops and has its content canceled or gets a sequel making those words mute

And with the rate how 343 is going its safe to assume that they just said 10 years of halo so they will allow themselves 10 years of catch up putting features that should’ve been in the game from day one

It’s kinda funny that of all the things I said that was the one thing you picked out.

If you re-read what I said (I’ll quote myself below) I never said 10 years of support for Halo Infinite.

As you can see I asked 3 questions in 3 sentences, one around their planning, one around their long term support and one referencing their 10 year plans. These are separate questions but are all along the same theme of the fact that 343 have stated they are looking several years ahead.

The 10 year reference refers to what Chris Lee said during a mid 2020 interview. So to answer the question of hasn’t 10 years been mentioned before? The answer is yes it has, by Chris Lee, during a 2020 interview.

As you can see I never once claimed he or anyone else had stated Halo Infinite would receive 10 years of support.

Perhaps you saw what you wanted to see?

Absolutely, yes. Firefight or war zone.

Chief clones makes less sense than chief + three other MP Spartans.

Would be an interesting nice-to-have option in terms of player choice. Here is, perhaps, an interesting consideration:

The MP cosmetics ARE the greater long-term monetization model. (this is a guess. I can say for myself I’ve spent $50 on the campaign and $100+ on seasons and cosmetics…). Give the people what they’ve already paid for, the cosmetics, anywhere in the “game” be it MP or campaign or PvE.

Honestly, the mechanics around customization (setting aside the cross-core ask and cross-core skins) could use a big user overhaul since, arguably, the monetization product ARE the cosmetics:

  1. Spartan cosmetic presets made by players, shareable. I.E. instead of core selection, make preset configurations where core is an option and save a number of presets as a quick-select. Share presets and allow players to equip what armor they have unlocked already, perhaps incentivize a “completing the preset” by allowing a player to buy the missing armor/cosmetics options if available.
  2. Community marketplace for armor, skins, weapon models, campaign-like stories, maps, mods, game modes, etc. (take a lesson from Apple and take 30% of all sales and let other people make content. Vet content before release.) filling the game with “infinite” content would make it truly a juggernaut of a game/sandbox. Let 343i focus in on mechanics, HCS, seasons, but open up to a creator community that fills the void.
  3. Customizable kits, or make changes to existing kits (like reskin Jorge and add replace or add a helmet attachment.)
  4. General interoperability of skins, attachments, equipment, armor where reasonable (if unable give the player a reason why it can’t equip.)

I haven’t looked too much into model replacement, are there any visual glitches with swapping in MP models onto Chief’s skeleton?

I’m unsure, but it’s a whole process that isn’t terribly easy.

Given how much time and focus has been given to cosmetics for 343’s long term monetezation scheme for Halo, you think it would be a given to implement it into every aspect of of the game, including campaign. The reason of “its Chief’s story” is just a bold face excuse for a much larger issue with the game. And that being that the game code is such a mess that the time it would take to implement co-op cosmetics is something low on 343’s priority list, especially with the games piss-poor and content-lacking state.

I mean, 343’s excuse for not having a proper storefront for items was because of UI limitations, and if the game’s code is so poor that can’t update the UI, then how much hope does that leave for other fan wanted features.
