Alright, so in Reach (and I liked Reach, so criticism from me is not trolling, they had a decent idea with the whole Invasion thing. Howeverm it never really caught ont becuase the people that liked the idea ended up being disappointed. The idea was to create a large-scale attack/defend objective mode designed for a lot of people to pair up Spartans vs. Elites. The mode lacked becaust it was caught in between other objective modes and its goal as a massive battle.
I think they should bring back Invasion, except up the ante a whole lot. Specifically:
-Bigger maps with more than one general path way the objectives. If they want massive, then make a couple huge maps with more vehicles so that youre never stuck chasing after some moron drives away with an empty Warthog.
-Speaking of vehicles, bring an element of attacker and escort vehicles, like having the Falcon AND Hornet in the same game so that the Attackers have more of that Siege feeling. Could also bring back passenger Hogs with Gauss of fifty Cal escorts. Could even introduce aquatic vehicles, but thats another thread.
-Heavier fortifications for defenders so they actually feel like defenders. Baes set up to be defended, not easily pentrated, turing the game into hot potato with the objective for whoever the Attackers are.
These are just ideas (albeit bound for blasting), but I think the reason the mode essentially failed was because it just turned into Slayer with an objective in the way. So, if massive battle is the goal, then scale this party up and lets get some tactical gameplay up in here.
Again, just ideas, but if you disagree, just say why.

Thats what Imn saying, I think it faded cause it ended up just being “kill everyone in sight and someone go check on that blue thing that the screen keeps pointing me to”
Add some depth and strategy to it, thats what large scale is supposed to invoke.
Just imagine an Elephant or Scarab sieging the base while a Couple of Hornets escort a Falcon deeper in, meanwhile defenders roll out a Gauss Hog and a band of defenders try to board Mr. Elephant, and the rest players fight from base defenses to keep aricraft at bay.
Tactics and communication actually take place in a game based upon fighting. You have to fight AND fight efficiently so that the whole plan works out for the whole team on either side.
They need that cut gamemode from Halo 3 Global Battle to be in Halo 4. A.i Allies, Frigates firing overhead, Wraiths mortars in the distance and Large Scale Maps.
Invasion was one the best ideas in Halo Reach. They just didn’t take the potential of the gametype. I really hope they improve it rather than throwing it away in Halo 4. Ideas you mentioined were nice. Invasion should be 8v8 or even more. (if it could be possible)
Honestly, I hope Invasion is not in Halo 4. It was a horrible waste in Reach, I don’t want any more maps wasted on such a silly gametype. I want all real maps, designed for Slayer, CTF, Assault, etc. like what we have always had. Invasion is what ruined BTB in Reach.

That’s what I was saying when Invasion first game out. It never really felt like a huge battle. Just a Squad Battle Match with different species and whatnot. Besides needing more maps, I feel the only way to increase the “massive” battle of Invasion is to increase multiplayer capacity for teams such as 12v12, 16v16.
