Real feedback already

I like being able to sprint and climb over obstacles, and even sliding is fine, but thrust cant be too common to use and my biggest complaint is the ground pound, I don’t like the element of jumping and crashing down but whats worse is how has a aim point that seams to obscure your visor at times. if ground pound is in it should be done with out a visual indicator

Point out what you saw you liked and what you don’t like (If your just going to hate on everything then don’t bother posting) I don’t like the Sword design and also the shield sounds got annoying

The visual indicator is for you, no one else can see it. The problem I see for using ground pound is you are suspended for a few seconds before slamming. Might be good for clearing out campers.

That sword is different actually. Its a different energy sword called the Prophets Bane.

Did they say the Prophet’s Bane was more powerful than the energy sword? I think that’s what I heard, but I don’t know.

For me-

Things I liked:

Balanced Starts
“Appearance” that the gunplay looked solid.

Things I disliked:

Really, Really, Really, wanted sprint to be gone. So many negative impacts on gameplay and map design. More over, just because shields dont recharge, does not inhibit a player from STILL RUNNING THE HELL AWAY.

Scoping in needlessly changed to look like ADS, for no reason but to appeal to modern shooter players.

Shield Depleted sound effect, and several of the sound effects in general. I can completely tell the AR is a Thompson, which sounds out of place. What happened to the deep sounding AR from H1? That thing sounded like a beast.

Things I’m unsure about:

Im not really sure about the spartan abilities. They could be ok, but I really honestly cant say without playing with them first hand. As long as they cant be abused, Im fine with it.

My hope is some of these things can be addressed as its such an early Beta. Thus cautiously optimistic, but largely skeptical.

I have a feeling ground pound is going to be OP as hell. It looks like a ohk and that is never good. Games will consist of both teams constantly jetpacking up and ground pounding over and over. Calling it now.

The thrust is OP too. Just watching pistola dash around the map swording people was ridiculous. Looked like a hunter blade dancing in destiny.

Sprint is cancer. It ruined Halo 4, it will ruin this game. It. Breaks. Map. Design. There is no argument against that.

Clamber I don’t care either way. It could be an alright feature.

ADS isn’t a problem it seems. Just a different cosmetic zoom from the binoculars they gave you on some weapons.

Agreed with both. That sword is abysmal.

Things I liked:

The removal of grenade indicators
The graphics were bomb

Things I didn’t like:

The new sight is weird and unnecessary. I know it’s just a visual change, but I got attached to the classic Halo zoom.
Sliding
Clamber - I loved finding new and clever jump-ups, but this makes that aspect of the game obsolete. It’s really not that big of a deal, but I wish they would remove it.

Things that I’m unsure of:

Spartan abilities - it’s quite a big change, but if people can learn to utilize them effectively, I don’t think it should be that much of a problem

Prophet’s Bane gives you increased movement speed, and also if ADS with it you’ll have a longer lunge.

I agree with you I think the sliding packour could make sprint a bit more balanced and actually fix alot of sprints issues but I find the ground pound and the ads sorry “smartscope” is just a bit to far in the wrong direction it’s kinda like one of those pointless adjusts we have to get use to because you said so kinda thing the ground pound is a little over powered in that build free rockets all around but willing to give it a chance and make my full judgements after I play for myself

I love it!! Halo needs to evolve, and I think this is the right way to evolve. Everything looks so balanced and fresh, but still getting classic competitive vibes. Some ppl dosent like the change, but as I said Halo needs this, or the franchise will stuck and fade away. Sorry for bad english, Im from Finland.

No, it doesnt. There is nothing wrong with good old classic gameplay. If people dont like arena shooters, they should go play Call of Duty. Halo should stop trying to be something its not. It doesnt need all these fancy bells and whistles. All Halo 5 needs is to be more balanced.

Who are you to say Halo 5 isn’t an arena shooter?

Because Arena shooters dont have things like climbing over obstacles or all these spartan abilities. Whats the point of jumping if you can just climb over things? Halo is ok with small changes to keep it fresh but not these big changes. And sprint makes the Spartan base speed sliower. Spartans should be able to run at fast speed without pressing a button, like it was in Halo 1, 2 and 3. Now, if they worked like Halo 3 equipment where its a pick up and can only be used once, that might be better. I use to be a Reach and 4 defender so dont call me a classic fanboy.

By looking at old arena shooters like Quake, yes, i dont think its an arena shooter. It COULD be one, just remove all the unnecessary stuff. Before praising this stuff, ask yourself, “Does Halo need this” and when i look at it i say “no”

Honestly the only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the general noises of guns.

Clamber seems to be a gimmick mechanic, from what I’ve been seeing. Seemingly, certain obstacles and ledges are deliberately made to be inaccessible to the regular jumping for the sole purpose of adding clamber. Otherwise, the only thing of value which clamber adds to the game is when you miss a regular-sized jump and skillfully hit that button. But how often would we miss jumps in Halo? Clamber also looks to replace skill-jumps.
Second concern is the weapon balance. Every weapon seems to have increased range, and this is of especial concern with the automatics which seem to be able to duel the BR at mid-range. And the BR seems to be able to hit accurately at long range. Many videos seem to showcase players getting kills where the reticule doesn’t turn red.
And finally, the insanely short kill-time makes the game seem less tactical.
Shorter-kill times also encourages the use of smart-scope in automatic weapons with their increased ranged and damage.
Of course all this is just mere observation from the little gameplay which we already have. But thankfully and cleverly, 343i is rolling out an early beta.

I see ur point. But I still think games needs to evole, or most of the ppl will get bored, and thats not good for the franchise.
