Just want to say this is a kind of hateful post against new gamers. I don’t really mean it that way but just wanted to give you guys a heads up that maybe before complaining and showing you are a noob you could play for a bit/play older games to really understand what is going on with things. So just remember 2 things before you post a complaint or issue on the forum. 1) Check to make sure the “new feature” you hate wasn’t already a part of Halo for multiple games now. 2) is your complaint just a problem with gaming/technology itself or unique to the game. Yes, we know you haven’t been playing long and haven’t had to listen to people playing their own crappy music over the headset for literally a decade now, but that doesn’t mean we are jerks for not using the public chat.
Honestly feel like almost every issue related to the Halo community divide boils down to 2 major groups. New vs old gamers. I don’t mean age but game experience. Like all you anti-sprint people talking about “its not Halo” sure ok…go travel back to Halo Reach and complain when that was a valid point, we are on the 3rd game with sprint, if you don’t like it its time to shut up or move on. Or, the ban stuff, all these complaints just end up boiling down to “I’m a baby/quit games all the time”, and that may not seem like it is related to older games but when you grow up playing dail-up RTS someone rage quitting over a single death caused by a lag spike is something that makes me wish I could reach through the internet and strangle people. We played games that didn’t even have aim-assist and you expect us to support your view that Spartan Charge needs a buff with the aim-assist???
I think though for me one feature in this game really showed how historic gamers vs new gamers are the real divide. “EVERYONE KNOWS YOU RUN FASTER WITH THE KNIFE!” I was playing with a group of people and over the party chat this dude was talking about how the game was glitching out and the sword dude was too fast, and right away I said the above comment to all these nubs complete confusion. These are people who didn’t grind through decades of bad games and learned to really play, these are just new kids who are too spoiled to believe they suck. It’s like they can’t figure out the basics of Warzone cause you don’t have to play through once with a tutorial of Sarah constantly telling you/pausing the game to explain “This is an enemy boss, they are worth a lot of points”.
People say Halo is “too competitive” or that anyone good must play all the time…and I guess that is true, since at release I’d already 100% knew the controls from the last 10 FPS games I’ve been playing.
