Readin this forum has made one thing painfully obvious about the Halo community

EDIT: Thanks Halo Waypoint moderator for restoring my flagged post without my intervention, I knew people were being overdramatic so I didn’t bother.

This is probably one of the most selfish communities I have ever been a part of.

‘‘Muh rewards’’, ‘‘Muh rewards’’, ‘‘Muh rewards’’ everyone cries. It’s so tough completing the objective because you don’t get anything out of it :sob:
there is no incentive to play the objective because oh gosh poor you don’t get anything out of it :confounded:

If only there were a reason to complete the objective while simultaneously getting your challenges done.
''There just isn’t one!
No reason at all.
Because I only think about myself.
ME MYSELF AND MY REWARDS :sob: ‘’
-You

When did people get so selfish? What happened with just doing your best for the sake of doing your best?
I know, you’ve become a spoiled and entitled little brat who expect the biggest reward for the least amount of work.
You’re at fault for what is happening with the multiplayer, not 343.

It’s not their fault that you completely give up on the objective because you need to kill 10 enemies with a melee or something.
God forbid that you do that WHILE playing the objective. Absolutely atrocious, right?

What about your precious little k/d that you can’t even see? Oh god forbid that you end with a lower k/d that doesn’t affect your completely non-existent stat.

I swear to god sometimes I wonder if you were ever raised by someone.
You act like you’re the only person in the entire world and nothing else matters than you and yourself.
I hope for your sake that this is just you selfish entitled gamer personality.
Truly.
I can’t imagine what you life must be like if this is how you act in real life.

I agree with the sentiment but you’re posting about the people on this forum rather than posting about the game, so the mods will most likely have to lock this. Once again, I agree with the sentiment though :+1:

Oh, so I’m a terrible person for not being engaged by the gameplay alone? Got it, I’ll go find my Scrooge costume now.

This is even more quality bait than what I post.

They should disable certain challenges in ranked. Like weapon kills etc, and keep score flags, plants bombs etc.

Gamers back in early 2000’s: All I wanna do is WIN!!!
Gamers today: Can you give me a sticker or something for losing?

Completely different eras. Gaming companies only introduced progression systems for the sole purpose of making more money, it was so brilliant that now its considered a huge feature to have a super long and grindy system to work through. Nevermind that Battle Pass system is sort of that anyway

If anything post like this made me realize there really are people who need clout just for attention

Can’t blame the players for this. Games in recent years, especially those with Battlepasses have capitalized on the Fear of Missing out aspect. In turn the mechanics and features in these games have been created with a singular purpose:

To create a want by players to progress and be rewarded for it.

Keep that in mind when considering “progression” in halo infinite. This is compounded when looking back at previous halo games. Halo Players always had a linear progression system which respectfully rewarded their time spent playing. A long term-goal is what every game needs to keep players engaged.

And no battlepasses are not a long-term goal. They are short-term goal that caused the change in what people consider fun. For those people its no longer about enjoying the game, they have been trained to find enjoyment in progressing and being rewarded asap for that dopamine rush.

Because of how XP is only gained through challenges when players see that they aren’t progressing they get upset, then they start focusing on being selfish which is further amplified by the lack of Performance Based XP gain.

The result? What we have now.

HAHAHAHA I do agree.
You sounded the alarm, though.

I don’t even care if this was made as bait, this is 100% true and if you are one of the people like above and deny it you need to be reminded you’re the main reason halo is worse than it used to be. Not 343

If the community didnt complain 343 would have released that unfinished and unpolished mess they revealed over a year ago!

uhm… prior halo games?
like the prior halo games rewarded you, REWARDED, for: doing the objectives, playing at your own pace, playing GOOD, doing what YOU WANT

halo infinite rewards you with nothing for PLAYING THE GAME, you get stuff for: doing what it wants you to, no matter if you play good or bad, win or loose, do the objective or not

past halo games, like MCC and Reach, gave an insentive to play the game proporly, the halo standared. Infinite has given 0 reason for me to do so to it

100% with you. For all the complaining they do about the progression system and the battlepass (which is garbage btw) they sure as hell are more than willing to hand over those 10 dollars, then proceed to make the game worse for the rest us in the pursuit of leveling up

Then they have the audacity to act like it’s all 343’s fault

Gameplay isn’t even that good lmao. Netcode, radar, player collision, friendly fire, desync, scope glare, rip plasma pistol, vehicles, rotating weapon spawns, no red reticle (for PC), strafe acceleration, etc.

All of that though IS fixable. What isn’t fixable is designing a game around monetization because whether we like or not, people like customization and expression.

How does this effect people that don’t care about customization?

Whether you get your fun from winning or just playing, inevitably it’s not going to be fun when your team is constantly playing to complete arbitrary challenges or quitting in hopes of specific game modes.

I agree with the notion that customization isn’t a big deal to some BUT by messing it up for those that do care, it’s messing it up for the rest of us too.

i dont see how someone cant see the game as not fun. its the best AAA game made in the past 5 years i’d say. you expect the quality of the early 2000s, but thats never coming back, regular people let it die. 343 seems to care more than the other companies, so thats why i’m not mad.

Uh, Splitgate made a better game with less people, less money, and in less time as an indie studio.

Just because 343 is a AAA studio doesn’t mean they should get a pass on putting this put after 6 years. If anything, it’s more of a reason to be disappointed.

On a much larger level, just because other AAA developers are using the same garbage tactics doesn’t mean people should just rollover and think “welp this is just the way it is now”

I’m not trying to invalidate your enjoyment or lack of outrage (if you enjoy it, that’s great). But it’s painfully easy to understand the other side of it.

it’s even more dissapointing when you consider the fact that bungie had LESS TIME AND MONEY to make the other halo games, and they came out better AT LAUNCH. 343 really has no excuse after 6 long years

Truth.
Makes me sad…. Especially this outrage and hate towards 343 lately….

I personally love the game and am content to wait for the playlists. I am fine, the custimization is no different for me since what i lived about custimization has been missing for about a decade. Without playable sangheili I honestly don’t care about progression so to me, this game is awesome…

Although… it is really sweaty at times :
