READ this cool idea

What if there were smooth animations that allowed the passenger to slide over to the driver side without getting out or vice versa. It would do a nice animation of your Spartan rolling, flipping or whatever they do in the movies to the unmanned other side.

This would only apply to ground vehicles, specifically the warthog, revanent/ spectre.

Is this too detrimental to gameplay? Thoughts.

I wouldn’t mind this idea, at lest for campaign, don’t know about MP.

I like it.

Hmmm, I would bind it to a button that’s normally not used when you’re in the vehicle, like crouch, the armor ability button, or zoom.

The D-pad isn’t used in the vehicle, except when switching grenades I think. So have the D-pad left and right functions for the animation. The up in done can be your nade switching.

Or hold the jump button.

This would be great! I wouldn’t have to get out and get back in if I accidentally get on the wrong seat.

I think this would be very handy. You could utilize buttons not normally used in Vehicles, and it would get rid of that annoying “got in the wrong seat” scenario.

I would probably go about it like this (using the Warthog as an example)

“Y Button = Transition Clockwise”
“B Button = Transition Counter-Clockwise”

In the driver seat, pressing Y will move you to the Passenger Seat, pressing B will move you to the Turret.

In the Passenger seat, pressing Y will move you to the Turret, B will move you to the Driver Steat.

In the Turret Y will move you to the Driver Steat, B will move you to the Passenger Seat.

If you want to transition to an occupied seat, you have to hold the button down (say Turret to Driver you would hold Y) they have to accept the seat change request like in Borderlands, except instead of having your spartan annoy the -Yoink- out of the person in the seat yelling “CHANGE SEATS!” It just shows a text prompt somewhere out of the way, but noticeable that says “Turret Gunner wants to trade seats, Hold ‘B’ to swap.” and so long as you are holding the buttons at the same time, you will trade seats.

I wouldn’t mind it much. I don’t drive often.

It would get too complicated, especially with vehicles with more than 2 extra seats.

That sounds pretty cool!

WANT

However:

No it won’t. That’s why I said it will be exclusive to warthog and covie version of their warthog. They have 2 seats, and I excluded the gunner on the warthog.

Truly, it isn’t. BF3 does it great. In a vehicle with more than 1 person, there is usually gunner positions and a pilot position. Apart from the elephant/mammoth, its just about every big vehicle. So, maybe you have some sort of “list” showing everyone on the vehicle. If there is an open spot, press a button which is “change spots”. You would automatically move upwards on the list to the closest spot.

Great idea OP! I really like it.

How about holding the movement stick (warthog turning is controlled via the aim stick) towards the seat you want to switch to and holding ‘X’?

Nice idea. Another thing I thought would be cool was vehicle-to-vehicle hijacks. Like if you were in the passenger seat of a Warthog and another Warthog got close enough, you could jump from one to the other and hijack. The other driver would have a little bit of warning to swerve away, so it won’t happen too much.

Me likes your thinking. This reminds me so much of a movie of some high speed fight chase lol.
