READ "HALO 5: DECODED" - REVEALS H5'S HIDDEN PLOT

Further to my posts “How to Hunt the Truth in Halo 5” back in June, and my recent “H5 Campaign: My ‘Hunt The Truth’ Plot Answer”, I have finally created this webpage below using Microsoft’s cool new Sway App in Windows 10.

It’s full of Spoilers, so obviously meant for people who’ve played the Campaign and know the basic ideas but struggle with what the story plot is, or what it all means. If you’ve yet to play or finish the Campaign, I suggest you wait until you’ve experienced the story first: you can always come back to this after you’ve played the game.

But here, in pictures, words and a Trailer clip, this Sway shows the “Game Secrets” in Halo 5 which help reveal the hidden “Hunt The Truth” story, and what Master Chief discovers when he finally finds out who is really behind the Guardians…

And what we can all predict Master Chief is like to do next…

Enjoy! And feel free to share it!

Thanks OP! I’ll have to check this out!

Huh. I like a lot of the color symbolism done in this, but I’m having trouble understanding how Halsey could have obtained the true Cortana after her “death”? If you can explain this, and when she would have been allowed to create a new Cortana in a human lab while in possession of Jul Mdama as a prisoner, you’d have a solid theory.

you sir are amazing!

Am I the only one not agreeing with this? It just seems too far fetched and as in depth and as much as I want to agree with it(i read it a few times over) I just can’t. Halsey was in prison the entire time from halo 4 thru spartan ops up till halo 5 where she loses her arm. Can she create a duplicate cortana in that time? Yes possible, unlikely but possible and definitely not in the free and easy condition she is in during the prologue. If anything thats likely just a retcon of the events on reach.

So lets assume, yes she does make an ai duplicate of cortana for oni as a prisoner. Then how on earth did oni get access to the domain to send cortana there and do exactly what they want? (Btw this whole theory has been busted by Tales from Slipspace, where its revealed that a rampant fragment of cortana made it to the domain through the slipspace event building under the composer. ) So NO. NO ONI is in command of galaxy. NO. JUST NO.

Also how the heck can Halsey contact chief during his miserably 3 short missions? Given that she has no idea where chief is. This is not the same as her contacting Infinity, because at least they had met before and can find some means to stay in contact. She- Halsey has no idea where chief has been from spartan ops till halo 5. And if she did tell chief that thats a fake cortana, shouldnt we the players know? Shouldnt blue team know? Wouldnt that spare us this entire ordeal of searching for Cortana? Chief did what he did thinking he could persuade her that what she is doing is wrong. As we all know that just didnt work out, rampant is rampant. Cortana wasnt cured by the domain from being crazy, she just doesnt break apart anymore. Plus its not even the real her, but a mere fragment of her whose logic has already been corrupted by rampancy. I know we all want h5 story to be deeper than it appears, sadly it isnt.

Yeah… While the creative thinking is interesting, I too agree that this is probably way too far-fetched to be true. I fear that you’re looking to explain things which just aren’t there, making things more complicated than they should be.

It was interesting to read, for sure, but I unfortunately cannot follow your train of thought.

While I still say H5 campaign gets more hate than it deserves and as much as I would like to believe there was some deeper story into the campaign their simply wasn’t. Some maybe just over analyzing a story and are trying to find stuff that just isn’t there. I do like this video kinda explaining why Cortana would be evil…Cortana logic plague… As much as H5 campaign wasn’t liked by the masses odds are they may end things in outside media much like H4 and take H6 in a different direction. maybe tie it to events of Halo Wars 2. Or what I was thinking maybe tie it to events of Halo Nightfall. Make a squeal to Nightfall as an intro/ build up for H6. Which group of Coventant was responsible for setting off that biological bomb on that colony? why did they do it? was their a plan to go after a bigger target after that? something like that.

Wow, this is amazing all the Halo Lore lovers should take a look at it

This is to your Bible verses that you found.

Acts 7:56 “and he said, 'Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God”

Habakkuk 2:14 “Ah! you who give your neighbors the cup of your wrath to drink, and make them drunk, until their nakedness is seen!”

Haggai 2:14li and so is this nation in my sight—oracle of the LORD— And so is all the work of their hands; what they offer there is defiled.”[/li]
Hebrews 2:14 “Now since the children share in blood and flesh, he likewise shared in them, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil”

Hosea 2:14 “I will lay waste her vines and fig trees, of which she said, “These are the fees my lovers have given me”; I will turn them into rank growth and wild animals shall devour them.”

Sorry for those weird links and other things, I just copied and pasted the verses. If there is a verse that I missed just let me know.

Interesting theory OP…

This is deep, but like really really deep. All and all it’s really interesting to read, but I think we need to take it with a pinch of salts.

You brought some nice point, but I don’t even think that 343 is that deep to have been thinking about everything, every argument, details you mentioned.

Let’s be honest, 343 loves the lore of Halo. And they put a lot in to it. And sometimes too much, especially when they don’t conclude stories from games and then putting them into comics or books.

I think you’re really onto something here.

I just feel 343 would have at least said hey there is a story within the story we hope players find or put together. They usually tell us stuff like that kinda like when they said that there was another Easter egg in H5( which was the different background after beating the game on LASO). but maybe there is something to this.

Thank you  you absolute boss!

While it is known that several eastereggs and clues are put by the developers into the Halo franchise, I feel that you looked too deeply into this. I honestly stopped reading and can’t take this seriously if you don’t know what a NFPA 704 is. It’s a safety “fire diamond” used by emergency responders to quickly address the hazard threat level and health risk of a material and how to handle it.

Red, Yellow, and Blue do not stand for “ONI, Chief, and Locke”. It stands for: Flammability (red), Instability/Reactivity (yellow), and Health (blue).

Look up:
“National Fire Protection Association 704: Standard System for the Identification of the Hazards of Materials for Emergency Response”.

Yeah that’s when I was like he is really reaching here and the part about how Chiefs visor is cracked the same direction as something on a screen or what ever.

Agreed. This is how I’ve ALWAYS seen the story:

At the end of H4, Cortana fragments herself into several pieces. After the nuke goes off, the main core/shell that is left of what was originally her is located in part of the hard light technology that she used to wrap the hard light bridge around John, protecting him. After she says goodbye, that emotional, logical part of Cortana ends up just floating around in space and probably is either still in a piece of junk orbiting the Earth, or burned up through the Earth’s atmosphere. In H5, it’s one of the many partial rampant fragments of Cortana that made it to the domain. THAT is the Cortana we see. You can’t fix this Cortana because she’s a broken half copy that’s missing parts of her programming matrix / personality.

sounds too much like a halofollower theory but there’s some thought put into it.
Dont agree too much of a stretch.
