Reaction to the various trailers

I take the liberty of writing this topic to give my feelings about the various infinite halo trailers that appeared on July 23.
First of all, I found the first Infinite Halo trailer to be perfectly successful. It is made in synthetic image and the quality of the image is quite good.
I have no complaints about this intro trailer for the game.

Now, let’s focus on the gameplay presentation of the game and see the positives and negatives of the latter.
First, I’ll start with the positive points that are noted:

  • We have a strong resemblance to halo combat evolved when we look at the landscapes, which is quite a good idea overall.

  • We have an assault rifle closer to halo reach but it is another model compared to halo reach

  • We have the return of the classic sound of armor

  • We have a “more classic” artistic direction but there are things to say about the enemies and in particular the grunts

  • We have some new unheard of weapons, which is pretty good, but hopefully the developers will keep the classic weapons from the first bungie trilogy and for anyone complaining about its new weapons, know that in halo 2 and 3 it there are new weapons and then if there is nothing new, what is more interesting that you bring. Don’t worry, there will no doubt be weapons from the original trilogy.

  • The grappling hook brings something new and to all those who complain about this feature, know that it will allow you to move a little faster in the game especially if it is a little more open world and then you don’t have to use it

  • The music is really good and makes us think of the original trilogy.

  • New gear is pretty good like the shield

  • Being able to run is quite a good idea and to anyone who complains about this feature, know that this feature is present in halo reach and then you don’t have to run.

  • The “HUD” is pretty good

  • The idea of a more open world is rather a good point and brings something new to the franchise

  • The menu of the card is good to find your way

Second, I’ll talk about the negatives:

  • Some enemies don’t look like the bannished but maybe it’s a choice to create variety
  • The grunts absolutely do not correspond to the original trilogy nor even to halo wars 2 or halo reach, which is rather a shame.
If the developers had put the original Halo Reach grunts, it would have coincided perfectly with the original trilogy in terms of artistic direction. Personally, I prefer the grunts of “halo reach”

There you go, I don’t see any other points to raise regarding this gameplay.

Finally, the latest trailer of halo infinite is pretty good. We see new elements that we haven’t seen in gameplay like the br of halo 2, an electric grenade to paralyze any enemies and the music is reminiscent of halo combat evolved, which is a very good point.

Here, I have finished.

Late Night Gaming successfully articulated the main problem I (and many other people) have with the grapple-hook. I can’t remember his exact wording, but feel free to check out his most recent video. Favyn’s video on Infinite is also worth a watch. Essentially, the grapple-hook causes a skipping of level design. The problem people have with, for example, the jetpacks in Anthem is that they provide the player with too much freedom. It’s the same with this grapple-hook. It encourages the player to skip chunks of the level. The adventurous feat of traversing the terrain and naturally coming across brilliantly placed enemy encounters is no longer a core part of the game, meaning that the grapple-hook actually takes away one of the most fun aspects, not just of Halo, but of video games as a whole.

Exactly. ENCOURAGES, not FORCING, it is up to the player if he wants to use it or not, like seen in the Gameplay Reveal. Do you go the normal way around, directly towards the Shade, or are you trying to flank them using the Grapple? I certainly will try it out here and there, especially on Legendary.

I agree that the grappling hook gives a lot of freedom to the player but how does that pose a problem since it’s a little more open world and it seems to me that the developers have clarified that this feature would be highly recommended for go faster. Plus, you still have the option of crossing terrain without using the grapple.
On the contrary, I find the grappling hook fun because it allows you to grab unclassified places and use it as a weapon against enemies.
If you don’t like this feature, you don’t have to use it unless you have no choice.
