What did you think of the idea of getting a cool helmet once you’ve reached max rank, even if not lore-friendly?
I personally enjoyed the idea. There’s dumb Timmy in H5 that everyone can get, no matter of skill after all. In Reach, if you saw someone wearing that you knew they were through some -Yoink-. You knew they were good and you had a feeling of respect for them.
I still haven’t “REACH’d” Inheritor, though I like the idea.

Thanks. I try. Comedy is the only thing I am actually half good at.

I like the idea of rank, achievement, and commendation unlocks for armor and helmets. We need a mix between how you unlocked stuff in Halo 3, Reach, and Halo 4. Screw the Halo 5 method of locking everything begin RNG Req Packs.
That helmet was a symbol of respect as you said.
After 6 years playing Halo: Reach, I haven’t gotten that helmet

in 16 days I’ll have the helmet. I’ve been ruining those stupid Peace Matches and still get 24,000+ Cr after each match

I can´t get more than 5,000 per game

While I like the idea of having a helmet to show of your maxed rank, it doesn’t always invoke a feeling of respect. Because there are some instances where people “pay” someone else to play/level their character for them so they can have all the rewards without the work. If I happen to get into a match with someone with the Inheritor Haunted Helmet and they actually show the skill to validate them having the helmet, then yea…I can have some respect for them then.

Or take the easy way and play firefight and/or score attack like crazy, firefight takes around 43% (competitive second, campaign third and invasion last I think) for me.
You don’t need skill at all to get that helmet, you need Cr and you get those Cr by playing the game, not being good.

Well, I am pretty sure if you play enough to get the cR for the Inheritor helmet (To rank up to Inheritor) I am fairly sure you will have some skill or at least be fairly good at the game by that point since you have been playing that long.
that helmet was a symbol of experience and time put on the game but i usually just evaluated them like the others, by playing with or against them.
some of them even seemed quite under-skilled though that could be someone else playing on their profile or it could be about that you can reach max rank by only putting time on the game and there was not really a skill required. I kind of liked it, at least you couldnt get lower rank like in some games.

most of the people who have it that don’t have skill are the kids that sit in grifball all day. I see it alot since I troll the boosters in Grifball

that could be the case with newer inheritors but i have seen under skilled ones fairly early. Even when Halo: Reach was the newest Halo game.
it requires just time, and skills of the people are variable.
one another thing now could be inheritor returning to reach after a long break.
You also need to purchase all the other helmets. Halo 6 would be wise to follow a similar layout to Reach
