Reach, personally, is my favorite Halo title. It bums me out to see that nobody plays Team Objective. Why? Also why do people always choose slayer over objective-based games in BTB. Thoughts and opinions are welcome.

idk man
IMO, since Reach really didn’t accommodate on competitive modes or ranking system, lots of the competitive players would go to these modes and just straight up dominate and casual players. Usually they would also have preset teams and friends to play with, so when they pair up with a team of casuals or a team made up of solo players with lack luster communication and strategy, they get destroyed, quit and or play another game.
Likewise i like team objectives too, butt i usually just troll if im ever in that game mode as well aha
I personally could never get into the objective games. I never had the friends to play matches with most of the time so I usually got paired with randoms. And more often than not, there would always be those few players who would completely ignore the objectives and just focus on their K/D for the match. It is super annoying when you are in a team of 4-5 players and you and maybe 1 other player are the only ones pushing/doing the objectives. Getting too many matches like this left a bad taste in my mouth when it came to objective based game types. That and I couldn’t stand people who would camp power weapon or vehicle spawns so I mostly just ended up sticking to SWAT in the end.
Because most often then not some kid decides to mute mic coms and just ignore their team mates and screws around, making it really hard to capture anything

I’m with you, I do enjoy the objective playlist. I can only assume that players avoid this playlist because it involves an additional layer of strategy that simple slayer-playlist enthusiasts can’t adapt to. I avoid btb like the plague though as it’s incredibly boring - you spend more time sprinting around the map than actually engaging enemies.
If objective games are what you’re looking for I suggest searching rumble pit and multi team(if you have a couple similarly-minded friends online of course). Obj gametypes come up frequently in these playlists and you won’t suffer from the boredom of sprinting around maps ten times before you see an enemy to take down.
OK. Thank you all.
In my opinion, people have always preferred Team Slayer over Objective. I think players, in general, don’t have the patience for objective and usually associate those game types with competitive/MLG which isn’t something that a large majority of Halo fans want to play.
I keep hoping that more people will play because there are several achievements I’d like to finish but every time I check, it’s a ghost town.
I think at this point it comes down to the current population. More people prefer slayer, and given that the population is low, people will see that slayer has the higher player count, and will stick with it just to play the game.
