Reach weapon models......... 343 please dont do this!

I’m only basing this on the RvB trailer, but I think I speak for a handful of the community when I say please don’t make the weapon designs like those of reach.

oh boo hoo. weapons are weapons. You wouldn’t be upset about the weapon design if reach didn’t have so many other flaws that made everyone hyper-critical.

Nope you dont speak for me.

i dont like lots of things about reach but weapon models are not bad at all

I’d prefer the designs from Halo games other than Reach. The sniper design was okay in my opinion but the majority of weapon designs in Reach weren’t as artistically good. (I disliked the AR design in Reach). Just my opinion.

Not entirely…I really enjoyed reach. The only thing that gets to me is that those designs were decades back in the halo timeline. With every halo game a new style for the majority of the weapons have been introduced and seeing as 343 is intending this one to be of their own new accord, it would be fitting that their own style to the design be fresh.

I have no problem with how the weapons looked in Halo: Reach (although I like how they used the Halo 3 AR) But i want them to do their own thing and redesign all the weapons. at least a bit to make it their own.

You don’t speak for many…

Exactly Navbuscus

The AR retains a Halo 3 look.
The DMR looks similar to the old BR.
The BR looks like a reach design.

I think they are blending all the styles.

They werent decades back whatsoever. Reach was set during 2552 and Halo 3 was set during a period between 2552 and 2553. H4 is set… what… four years in the future from the end of Halo 3.

For me the weapon designs of Reach are beautiful, they look solid and real. The H4 weapon redesigns, what we have seen so far, look gimmicky and over-designed. I’d prefer new weapon models altogether for H4 but I wish they would take some design tips from Bungie rather than forging weapons that don’t look like they could actually exist without someone saying “Whats the point?”.

Just look at the BR85 to see what “over-designed” is.

The only weapon that looked like its Reach counterpart that we have seen is the shotgun, and that design fits well in 4.

I had nothing against the Reach design but I’d hate exact copies, kind of like the way they did the Shotgun and Rockets in Halo: CEA. But that probably won’t happen so I wouldn’t worry, and it’s no big deal if the weapons have similarities, they look similar in all games.

The H4 shotgun we saw Sarge holding actually is the Reach M45 shotgun, I’m sure its just a placeholder though.

I’m only saying this because of the shotgun, hoping the others will not follow suit. Its a new great game by a new great company.

I don’t really get your point but I understand that they’re blending styles. I saw the AR look. (Assuming it was) I was just saying I prefer to not have the AR design from Reach. In my opinion, some of the weapon designs in Reach weren’t as artistic to me. But it’s fine and no biggy no matter which way they go.

Its called placeholder, the shotgun obviously looked out of place due to a new game with updated lighting and updated engine etc…
