Let’s talk about health packs. I liked how it changed the way ppl played Reach, it made it more balanced, and gave players more to Strategize with and was a great throwback to classic Halo. What do you guys think? Do you want heath packs in Halo Infinite?
I personally like H5’s health system, it could probably use a buff or some other way to slow down gameplay in pvp and to “tank” more in campaign. Other than that I don’t mind the health pack system but I don’t know the difference between CE health packs and Reach health packs. I thought they did the same thing.
I’m personally against health packs. We tried it in Halo: Reach and no one liked it. The reason being that it didn’t encourage being good at the game. If you got in a fight you’d leave with low health and limp away as an easy kill for the next person.

I think the only difference was in the HUD

That, and you had to press a button to access Reach health packs. Halo 1’s were automatically picked up upon touch.
This’s something that I definitely wouldn’t want to see return—at least not for the Spartans. I wasn’t a fan of the way that health packs essentially eliminated shield bleed before they were patched and made redundant. Health packs, bloom, and armour-lock are all things that I think are better off in the past.
I’d prefer CE style ones, tbh, reach had your health still regenerate a point or two (CE’s health didn’t regen at all) not to mention that you were 1-shot with no shields anyway , making health packs sort of redundant. I’d much rather see a one-off gamemode where your shields dont regenerate, making health packs or potentially armor packs actually worth finding and using. I’d still take the reach system though, if the afformentioned options regarding health packs aren’t available.
I’d like health packs in campaign, not multiplayer. Except if there’s a BR mode, I would like health packs in that most likely.
“More balanced”?
I’d say the exact opposite.
In most Halo games if you win a fight with someone and are low on health, you recharge your health/shields and are on the same level as everyone else in the match. In CE and Reach if you are in the same situation and recharge your shields but are low on health you are already at a disadvantage against other people in the match unless you find a healthpack.
No healthpack system = equal opportunities for everyone = more balanced gameplay
I don’t want health packs back. If nothing else than because it wouldn’t make sense canonically. Mark VI armor and onward have integrated healing systems that forego the need for external medical treatment. Unless Chief is somehow downgrading his armor, it wouldn’t make sense to me to make him rely on health packs again.
I wouldnt like health packs for multiplayer at least. Though in campaign the health system doesnt matter to me that much.
So no to competitive mode health packs & doesnt matter to campaign/similar mode(s).
I strongly disagree.
I was a big fan of Halo 2’s shift from Health Packs to regenerating health, and Reach’s turn was IMO a step back. All it did was slow down the game. I’m more open to the idea in the campaign, naturally, but I think for multiplayer its out of the question.
Yeah I’d rather health packs return. They were a great part of not only reach but odst and ce. Being stuck at a low health without finding a pack also forces the player to try and be more strategic and resourceful. Plus it’s nice to have them in forge. The halo health system was literally just a second, smaller shield that recharged at the exact same rate so it felt pointless. I’m fine with regenerating health but if it stays that way can 343 at least slow it’s recharge rate or do something to actually make it seem like a health mechanic and not an extra shield. Or even require the health to recharge before the shield starts to recharge.
I liked the Reach health system, but I prefer the original regenerating health style.
